Well about two days ago I was playing with some friends over Xbox Live Halo 3 when suddenly my screen got completely green and I could only hear how my friends were shooting at me.
I turned it off and the same thing happened, except the screen was completely blue. I get my phone and call Microsoft to report the issue, they tell me I have to pay $1080 Mexican pesos (Yes I live on Mexico, but I've got passport and all that shit, in fact I study at the U.S. on a private school). I'm like WTF!, why do I have to pay, then this guy tells me that the 3 year warranty only covers RRODs, I don't want to pay for a repair so the most reasonable thing to do was to RROd my Xbox. I get some towels ready and a blanket, I turn it on and it starts overheating but it turns off. I try this like for about 5 hours and having no success I decide to leave it for another day. I came back home and decided to continue killing my 360, I connect it to my TV and it worked, guess trying killing it actually fixed it.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, if so don't bother to leave a comment..
Yeah, I heard this is a temporary fix... It's weird but it works.
My 360's dvd drive won't read any of my games and Microsoft says I can only get it fixed if it's RROD... But I have another plan, I'll let you know how that goes.
It's funny, there are a lot of stories out there of people intentionally breaking their hardware right before their warranty runs out just to get a fix on everything else. Or they turn a small broken function into a bigger problem to qualify for the free repair.
I live in south america, gamers here we get fucked... at least microsoft has some xbox360 customer service in Mexico. Here in uruguay I dont really think they will know what Im talking about even if I bring a 360 to their offices.

Keep us updated on how it goes.
darn. I thought I was getting another RIP post.
Ceark:
Give it a couple of days.
like they say,
if it aint broke, fix it until it is!
Thats rich, fixin ur 360 by breaking some more, nice. I hate console interruptions during game play myself, I feel some of your pain.
Luckily 1000 pesos is only like 4 dollars and a stick of gum. I can loan you that, if you want.
