Star Invitational - StarCraft at its Best
sicPOS | 6:44 PM on 02.18.2008 8 comments

Gom TV Star Invitational brings us the top 16 StarCraft players in the world. It's a competition to compete for the title of best of the best. For the first time we get English commentary, thanks to Nick "Tasteless" Plott, to go along with these matches so we aren't all left out. Group matches began on the 17th and end on the 20th with the top two players of each group continuing on. Afterwards the bracket tournament will begin. Live streaming begins at 9:00 GMT every morning and videos of previous matches can be viewed here.

It's amazing watching these guys play. Mostly because of all the chicks they have cheering for them.

Don't they get paid an absurd amount of money for playing Star Craft even by practicing and what not?

I just got a brilliant idea. In Starcraft 2, Blizzard should include an self destruct and tell North Korea if they try to develop nuclear weapons they will blow up every Korean Starcraft cd. Boom, stability in that region. Why am I not in the UN.

@Jonathan
it's too bad Boxer was knocked out today. His second loss was rough, he was taken down by a zergling rush.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
