OK, I have a cool idea
scorpius | 11:08 PM on 09.16.2008 3 comments

I was just searching up Chibi-Robo on eBay, because I rented it when it came out and thought it was a great game. So then I thought up of this great idea: what if someone made a Chibi-Robo minifigure? So the robot itself (in actual size) has a plug and everything so you could plug it in! And it could sit around on your shelf. I don't know about you guys, but I really want that...

Also I need $120 for a Dreamcast with power supply, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 3. Not that I'm asking the Dtoid community, but I thought that would be interesting.

Random Ramblings
scorpius | 9:51 PM on 09.03.2008 3 comments

Sooo I have finally jumped back into the magical land of Pokemon. Have Pokemon Diamond but I'll be getting some better pokemans soon.
Sins of a Solar Empire is one of the worst games I have ever played. I will be doing a Monthly Musing on it soon, but with no pics alas :-(
Hacked my Wii via Twilight Hack, now I have the Homebrew Channel. It's really awesome and I can now play Monkey Island on my Wii :-)
Mega Man 9 is looking better and better every day I look at it, and the faster I get it the better.
Imported Rhythm Tengoku Gold, I really hope that it will be fun and I will also post a review along with my SoaSE Monthly Musing.

Just a couple of short things strung together by me.

I hope to get the monthly musing by September 20th, and the Review of Rhythm Tengoku Gold a couple days after I get it.

That's all for now!

Hiking, Importing, Questing for a Dreamcast and Random Comments
scorpius | 6:22 PM on 08.21.2008 2 comments

I'm planning to import a DS game from Japan soon, I'm torn between Rhythm Tengoku Gold and Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, and I've heard that they're both really good. It's not like I know any Japaneese, so I guess I'd have a hard time with both, but whatever! They look fun...

I just got back from a 50-mile hike up in the Sierras which was pretty brutal. It was absolutely brutal, but that was why I haven't been posting in such a while. Also hoping to find a Dreamcast somewhere around on the internet, I'll post somewhat often on that struggle.
Braid looks very fun, but I don't have a 360 so hopefully it will be coming out for PCs shortly, and it would be great as a download. Castle Crashers also looks awesome, but it looks like it won't be coming out for PCs, but a friend of mine played it at Comic-Con and hopefully I can bribe him to let me play it or something like that.
I've recently been playing Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People Episode 1 on my Wii and Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, so I'll hopefully get some reviews up for at lest one of those games. Probably Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland because that hasn't been released in the States.

That's all I can pull out of my magical hat of Random Comments for now, but since I can't decide on either Rhythm Tengoku Gold or Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, I'll leave it up to the community to decide! Well, anyone who's played either of those games. And so ends thy Random Comments on Random Stuff, Episode 1.

Ninjas in video games: the next generation?
scorpius | 10:58 PM on 08.10.2008 10 comments

Why are ninjas never appreciated in video games as they should be? Any game involving ninjas is an action game, like Ninja Gaiden or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Turtles In Time. So why don't developers make a true, authentic ninja experience, allowing you to be a ninja, having to use stealthy ways of getting around and killing people. Like Metal Gear Solid, but with more ninjas. Ryu isn't much of a ninja, yet he's called one...why is that?

I don't think anyone "won" E3 this year
scorpius | 7:57 AM on 07.16.2008 7 comments

I may have posted this twice, so if I did I'm sorry...anyways here we go:
Personally, all the E3 conferences were boring, mostly because we knew what was going to be announced. Kinda. Nintendo just put out some games and was trying to fill in their conference with no new games or anything. Wii Sports Resort, Nintendo? Seriously? Although it looks cool...kinda. Animal Crossing was announced finally, and the WiiSpeak shows that Nintendo is putting their online in the right direction. Hopefully there will be more games that support WiiSpeak, most likely if Nintendo put a patch out for SSBB. Wii Music is coming out after much delay, but if it's a system seller nobody knows. But there needs to be more bigger games next year, or else.

Sony's was the worst. Video rentals? I have Apple, Amazon and BitTorrent covered up, thank you very much. God of War 3? One of the most boring trailers ever. They revealed nothing new except that it's in development. Come on, some gameplay would be nice. Ratchet and Clank? Oh wow. More of the same game. And then there's Massive Action Combat.

MAC can already be done on PCs, and besides it's stupid. Why do we need 240-plus player matches? Is there some sort of reason why? What ever happened to just a 16-player Counter Strike or TF2? The best part of small matches like 16-player is that it's more team-oriented and that it's not like you're facing tons of people onscreen. And the lag will be massive, Sony's servers will probably be destroyed if there are really 200-plus player matches. And since most of the people will be n00bs, it won't be that fun and there will also be lots of camping. MAC doesn't-and probably won't-sound like fun. Rather, it's just a boast to how many players you can cram into one single game. If this is how multiplayer will be, count me out, becuase I just want to be able to play with my friends rather than a hundred 12-year-olds screaming into the mic about their life stories. Sony, you game sucks and don't do this. OK, sorry for that rant but MAC sounds really stupid. So does the name. But at least it Kaz wasn't like Riiiiiiiidge Racer! the entire time. Riiiiiiiiiiiidge Racer!

Microsofts conference was kinda cool, but thanks to all the leaks it wasn't. Examples include: Lips, Netflix, new Xbox Live menu and FFXIII. Lips is a weird name, but is really just Microsoft's approach to SingStar...BUT it's produced by iNiS so I have hopes, mostly because Elite Beat Agents(also by iNiS) was really fun. And so was Ouendan. You're In The Movies is really iMovie for kids, and there's software like this already. Not very intresting, but then again not everyone owns a Mac, like me. So I'll give them that. Netflix is awesome, and thanks to the tons of titles already on Netflix, it's really cool. So Microsoft has the upper hand there...and also the hard-drive switcheroo thingy is awesom-O.

But the new XBL skin? Ugh, it's gross. Microsoft just wants to copy the Wii, and that's not a good plan. What Microsoft needs to do to beat the Wii is make good games and boast games like Fallout 3(want), Gears of War 2(do want) and, of course, Final Fantasy XIII(ULTRA-WANT!!). The FFXIII move was a good move by Microsoft, mostly because that was a big exclusive to Sony. As Jim Sterling put it on Destructoid, "Official: Xbox 360 is the official console for JRPGs". Why? Becuase of Lost Oddyssey, Blue Dragon, The Last Remnant, Star Ocean, Infinite Undiscovery and now Final Fantasy XIII. Now Sony is even weaker because of this, and they need to make a comeback next year or they're finished.

Nobody really "won" E3 because there were no real big announcements: Sony didn't make a big price cut, Microsoft didn't announce a new title, and Nintendo didn't really put out anything intresting. Although Wii Music does sound kinda intresting, like a casual Rock Band with different insturments. Hopefully it will be online, because then I can make a band and sell the music on iTunes. nah, that won't work.

But the announcement that was a bit shocking besides the FFXIII one was the announcement from iD saying that EA will do the publishing now. There was a new trailer for Rage and the new Wolfenstein, and I must say that QuakeCon will look like fun.
And that's what I think.

 about me

Hey.
I really like gaming mostly becuase it's the only thing I do, and that's why I like Destructoid. Some would call me a "hardcore" gamer, others not. I like RTS, retro, action/adventure, JRPGs and FPS games that are good, otherwise I don't pick them up or say that their horrible. I'm just another of the countless people on Destructoid, so yeah. Lots to see and nothing to do.
