So I was talking on the phone with my mother, walking around my room and a game had caught my eye. That game was Avaria's Endless Ages.
I remember setting the game aside a few weeks ago thinking that I might actually play the game or at least check it out. Now one might be wondering why I would want to play the game, hell even purchase it, when it looks like this.
Well I bought the game a year ago for two reasons, on the box it claimed that it is "The World's First True MMORTFPSRPG" and it was only $3.14 at Fry's Electronics. I had been wanting to play a MMO for while so I figured I would give it a shot.
I then realized that this game looks rather old so the servers may not be up anymore and that I should check to make sure so that I don't waste any time or hard drive space installing the game. So I did a quick Google search on the game and I come across this website.
http://www.endless-ages.com/
I began to read the latest news and learned that Endless Ages has just gone up for pre-order. This really confused me because I could have sworn that I was actually holding the box for the game in my hand and yet this website is saying that they now have the game up for pre-order. So at first I was thinking this must be another game with the same title. Hey it is possible after all the box does say Avaria's Endless Ages.
After not finding anything else but reviews for the game, I went back to the first website I stumbled upon and began reading through the forums a little. I discovered that something went wrong with the development team and the game disappeared. I know that sounds vague but I couldn't find any other information, not that I was trying. So this guy, Jason Lee, is apparently re-releasing Endless Ages with some tweaks to it.
It seems that my copy of this game is now completely useless and that I would need to buy the new version when it comes out if I want to experience such a genre as a MMORTFPSRPG. Which I don't really mind since the collector in me will want the different version anyways but most likely I will forget about this game by the time it comes out..... again.
Seems liek you found a time paradox in your Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter Role Playing Game.
Maybe it can be worth sometime someday.
Don't forget Real Time.
Oh, forgot that one!
But technically, a lot of Online FPS have RPG elements, and MMORPGs have RTS or FPS skill based gameplay, so I guess you can shorten it to MMO(Whatever) in any case.
I tried looking up stuff to research, looks like it's just a slight step up from the average "free" MMORPGs like Maplestory and RuneScape, and was lucky enough to get an release from EA.
If you're lucky when it comes out it will be awesome and famous and the version you have will become a holy grail of collectors.
