I started a linux install on my PS3 without properly thinking it through.

I have no real purpose for having Linux on my PS3. It was just SOMETHING TO DO. After all, my main computer is in the same room as my PS3.

Word of warning, although I'm not sure anyone else out there would be as stupid as me in this regard: When partitioning your PS3 hard-drive, be aware that ALL contents of said hard-drive will be deleted. When it said 'drive will be formated' I thought it was only talking about the partition I was creating for Linux. Oops!

I now have a fresh install of Linux running on my PS3. I have absolutely nothing else on the PS3. A year's worth of gaming vanished in a mere instant. Save games, demo downloads, EyeCreate videos... all gone. My PS3 has a 200gig hard-drive in it, so I'm not shy about downloading stuff. I've bought just about everything that came out on PSN (not lemmings).

I consider it a healthy cleansing and a challenge to regain my gaming stature.
My last game-save for Heavenly Sword was parked at the final boss, and I probably would never have touched the game again due to frustration. Now I will start the game a-fresh. AAH, healthy cleansing.

I'm sorry my play-throughs of Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted are gone, because those games actually give you incentive to play through another time. I was only on my 4th assassination in AC, so that's not too bad.

The irony of the situation is that Linux is currently running in a tiny 500px window on my 720p HDTV, which makes it utterly useless. Anyone know how to force a new res? The only option in the menu is 576x460. *sigh*
