been into gaming since the atari 2600 days, when as a young child i was smitten with the gaming addiction.
my favorite genres are mainly FPS & 3rdPS. i find myself usually drawn to games that are not AAA titles. although i'm not into multiplayer gaming (death match, capture the flag, etc..) i absolutely love co-op!
some of my favorite games from this & last gen are: the FEAR series, kane & lynch:dead men, prototype, rainbow 6 vegas 2, XIII, gun, manhunt 2, killer 7, shadow of the colossus, stubbs the zombie & black.
i'm currently on a slight action rpg kick, playing Okami (the game never ends)& Borderlands (a game i never want to end). also just recently picked up Deadly Premonition on 360 & POP-warrior within on ps2.

i was always pretty dedicated to gamespot, but someone (thankfully) pasted a link to a destructoid article in which the reviewer compares Deadly Premonition to some AAA sony title. not only did the article make me laugh my balls off- but it also made me realize that this site is all about [/i]real[i] gamers that are sick and tired of smaller games getting ignored. the fact that a budget title like Deadly Premonition got a score of 10 from Destructoid is enough for me to join this site. (the lack of censorship is also a big plus too!)

I still use gamespot, but for gaming news and previews I prefer destructoid or kotaku. I basically only use gamespot for blogging and forums. Destructoid's articles are just always hilarious even when the topic is something boring.

We've heard an unsettling rumor today from an anonymous tipster that longtime game reviewer Jeff Gerstmann from Gamespot has been let go. That wouldn't necessarily be newsworthy, but the conditions under which he was allegedly dismissed were.
