When the first images of Street Fighter 4 were released, not many people were pleased with what they saw. Rather than use the anime inspire look that many of the SF: Alpha game used and the aesthetic the Street Fighter 3. They went and borrow the Epic games look from Unreal Tournament and Gear of War; really huge and bulky like character designs. At first they looked rough around the edges, but as more images of the game were released; the art style started to work. So I decided to give my own spin on some of the new characters of the game.


Edit:Crimson Viper...

She really looks like Angelina Jolie (which those pouty lips and Mr. & Mrs. Smith yellow glasses). It took me a while to warm up to her design, but she really does look cool. She looks like the starter/beginner character.

Fixed her stomach a little, drawing at angles is so difficult.

Abel...

The scarred amnesiac/martial artist looking member of Shadaloo; to me he seems like a UFC fighter. My only regret about this drawing is that I felt I made to small; plus it's really hard to see were all his scars are in most screen shots of him. Abel will probably be the intermediate character for most Street Fighter veterans.

El Fuerte....

Probably a response to that luchador fighter in Virtual Fighter 5, although Zangeif is a wrestler character himself. El Fuerte will be probably be for players that are overly skilled with fighters that have extreme/weird fighting styles.

As for the character Rufus, his purpose and design is something that I cannot support and accept. I suppose he's a joke character in the game, but not everyone has gotten the joke yet. You see it goes like this, he is a self taught martial artist that happens to be overweight and his main goal is to defeat Ken Master. Yeah! Americans are fat and know what is best, I get it. It’s still not funny.
