Not playing Portal, yet having the time to play inFamous and argue about it on a vblog instead is the weirdest thing ever to me.
You don't even have to play it, just watch someone else play it. It's only about 3 hours!

All this talk has made me feel like getting the Orange Box, but I'd rather not get it on Steam. I fear for my laptop's health just running multiple programs at times.

The only "bad" part of the console Orange Xbox is Team Fortress 2. That's it.
There's nothing wrong with the console Orange Box, other than whining about mouse and keyboard, which shouldn't be a biggie for single player games; especially ones as easy as Half Life 2.

@Cadtalfryn: PS3 version has long-ass load times, but it's not terrible. Go for it if you can find it for cheap.
