Persona 3.. Um.. WOW!

Ok, so tonight is the night I've realized I am a dumbass and should definitely start playing games as soon as I get them more often. I usually have game ADD and just forget about some of the games before I get a chance to play them, sadly Persona 3 ended up being one of them. Recently I've been on a 'collecting Shin Megami Tensei' games kick, and remembered that I bought Persona 3 the day it came out (had it pre-ordered and everything!) So you'd think I would have played it by now. Well guess not.

I am now ENAMORED with this game! I love the art style used in the game (which is like majority of the SMT games). The soundtrack is fucking amazing and adds such greatness to the overall game play. I think this is a game that has me totally sucked in, and will be one of the few games I finish to the very end.

I very much recommend this game, it's soundtrack, and anything about it. I find it to be purely amazing. Let me know what you thought about it if you've already played, but please no spoilers!

I really enjoyed Blue Dragon as well, but I think this might kick Blue Dragon from it's #1 spot of '07 I had for it.

I just with there was a better way to level up instead of dungeon crawling. That would've made P3 my GOTY for '07.

the game has a breakneck pace but tries it's best to last as long as a school year. did a really good job merging old school rpg with a human interaction sim. people who haven't bought it yet should maybe wait for the possible Persona 3: FES version.

and it looks like Persona 4 is on its way.

welcome to the world of P3. I keep my P3 OST CD safely tucked away in my car console if I ever need to jam to 'Burn my dread -last battle-' during traffic.

Nocturne - Being a complete grindfest and making it impossible for me to really experiment with monster combinations.
DDS - That stupid Press-turn system never letting me get attacks in edgewise.
Devil Summoner - I shouldn't even have to justify this one. That game was just terrible.

well, while they all vary in certain ways, some more than others, the dev team on P3 seems to knowingly acknowledge the grind aspect of past SMT games and makes dungeon crawling an experience totally up to you. the game is split between going to class and building social connections that directly benefit during the day, and then at night, you have the option to progress up a tower to not only train you and your team, but to grow ever closer in your fight against evil and the unknown. the take is great because it not only tries to create a decent balance between fighting and it's socializing (which is much more damn entertaining than any date sim), but it also makes fighting feel more of a choice and cuts out the pedantic bullshit of trying to disguise leveling in fetch quests and talking with numerous throw-away characters just to have a reason to fight. granted, the game does chug a bit, but on a whole, i believe Persona 3 to be a very rewarding experience and very worthy of a look. but that's me, and i understand that not everyone shares the same opinions for one reason or another, so at the very least, borrow or rent it. if you need any more convincing or motivation, there's a well-written review of the game at great website over here.

spectacular game. possibly GOTY 2007. 100+ hours logged into it. last game i did that for was Chrono Trigger.
