Rumor of Firefox coming to PS3

As long as it has (at the very least) flash 9.
I don't understand how it can even be considered a browser if it doesn't have flash 9.

I've even gone ahead and wasted time installing yellow dog linux for PS3 on my hard drive, all to find out after the fact - 'yellowdog linux for PS3' doesn't have flash support either. A company claims to offer it as a $30 upgrade, but I am not willing to take their word for it without a trial period demonstration for proof. Call me cynical.

Oh my God, this would be absolutely amazing. Could you imagine if it supported plugins? Downloading YouTube videos straight to your PS3's hard drive? OH MAN.

That would kick ass. I loved the Wii browser back when I used it. Hell I use the shit out of my browsers regardless of the device. I use my Wii browser, my PSP browser, my DS browser, and I'm currently using my iPhone browser.

I wish every device had a browser.

if you still have yellow dog installed try gnash, it's an open source implementation of flash

Every console these days should have a browser - hint, hint, Microsoft. It's not like you don't make IE already, simple to implement it into the system...you just won't, for whatever reason.

Firefox on PS3, full Flash support (give me HULU, goddammit), and I'm there.

I could never figure out the complex code instructions to install gnash.

Ubuntu is easy because they have
-an 'install manager' program to add things. And,

-an 'update manager'program (searchable update list of freeware programs to download).

Yellow Dog PS3 doesn't have either (or I could not find them). Which turned installing Flash/Gnash for Yellow Dog PS3 into a snipe hunt.
