"I am hoping that I can be known as a great writer and actor some day, rather than a sex symbol." - Words of wisdom from Steven Seagal
"Existence is random. Has no pattern save what we imagine after staring at it too long. No meaning save what we choose to impose." - Alan Moore, from Watchmen issue six

Coming soon as an actual book you can buy a physical copy of to have sitting out on a table or as a digital download for your electronic book reader, The Bonerquest. The premise of the novel is all about a wizard. He wants to rule the world. He also thinks he might be a homosexual as well. The book has wars, sadism, and nudity repeated throughout the story. If that sounds interesting, hopefully you'll buy a copy when I'm done with it.
Good luck saying that title. I've had this game since the mid nineties and have no clue how to say that. This is a fairly decent NES game I bet flys right under the radar for most people. The game combines Dragon Warrior and Zelda. Yes, that doesn't make any sense. It only gets more crazy from there.
Check out the box art for this thing. I think it rivals Mega Man.
I got this game years ago as a gift from someone who bought a bunch of nes games and didn't know what to do with them. Since I'm the guy that plays video games, they were unloaded on me. In a bag full of bad licensed games, The Magic of Scheherazade really stood out. I'll probably end up playing this one again soon.
One cool thing is that in the Zelda parts, you have two different ways to attack. A "rod" which shoots out a circle and a regular sword attack. Also with the RPG battles you could hire soldiers to fight with you, which would often result in some outrageously long combat sequences.
One major frustration I remember is the passwords. Quite possibly the most brutal passwords ever in a game. A quick look at gamefaqs has some examples.
I remember trying really hard to write down my password and re-enter it. I did not play the game again until a few years later, at which I got to the same "lost woods" puzzle I was on before, wrote down my password, lost it, and then never played it again.
I was surprised by this one and thought some of you out there would like to hear about a game you may have missed. Now have some video!
This looks pretty cool. I am going to play this game with my friends tomorrow. I like the music... it's not amazing but it is interesting.
I totally dig the box art too. It reminds me of some of the art for the old Atari games. Even though the game never looked like that it was enough to jump-start one's imagination.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Getting... nostalgic...
You're welcome.
I remember little else about the game except for that I did beat it and those passwords were tedious.
