So, I've realized that when not in a relationship, videogames can be like a girlfriend. They make you happy, you spend a lot of time with them, and you look forward to being with them after work or school :) This leads to the question: If you could only have one, would you pick a girlfriend or videogames?
I know at first it seems like a no-brainer to go for the girl, so let me clarify. The girl is cute and say an 8/10, she's rarely a bitch, and has a personality that can exist harmoniously with yours. By no videogames, I mean you can never play anywhere, not just your house. No hanging out with your friends and playing Smash bros, no Rock Band, no coming home and wrecking people in CoD, and no RE5 for you when it comes out. You can only watch others play at most, with tears building slowly in your eyes :)
Personally, I'd still take the girl. When I was in a relationship, I spent a lot less time playing vidjagames so I think I could do it, and I also have other things to spend leisure time on like Magic the Gathering, comics, and anime. How about you guys?
EDIT: To clarify, this is not a situation that is happening to me. If I had a girlfriend who was like "games or me", you bet that bitch would be gone. This is just a hypothetical situation, and you do not get to have a balance. It's like a genie comes to you and says "I can have you meet this girl who is ideal for you, and you would both fall in love. However, if you ever pick up a controller, the girl will break up with you."
I once had a gf that hated the time i spent on gaming and actually posed the question " Me or your games " and I sent her walking after a 7 month relationship...
Now if the choice is NEVER gaming or NEVER a girl, it might be a bit harder... then again, I've been playing since I was 7 ( 26 now ) and I think that a life without gaming would not qualify as a decent life for me... So i think I'd go for the games...
And if she wants to see me irl and i'm busy with games, i tell her to come over and play with me
The choice can be a lot harder than you think. When you've grown up on videogames, and a lot of your humor and friends are heavily influenced by it, being isolated from it could mess up your lifestyle. I was abroad last semester in Budapest, and very few people played videogames often. Conversations were frequently boring, about sports, movie quotes, and gossip. It was interesting, and I still had fun with the traveling and drinking games and all, but it's nice to be back home in a culture and friends that I identify with.
In the immortal words of Atmosphere, "I'm Trying to find a Balance, I'm looking for a balance."
Your question therefore is STUPID :P
Agreed, balance is key, too much of either casuses headaches, or arthritis.
XD
I suddenly love you more.
relationships don't work for me so yeah
games
That would mean we'd both play video games. ;)
You heard me, this may sound crazy but they do exist and they can be hot, take the Destructoid member Mix for example. His girl play games almsot as much as him, and she hot.
Win win?
I think so.
Like a Victorias Secret model or something like that.
For one of them, I'd say goodbye to video games.
The hands will make me a sandwich without fuss, and they don't get headaches.
You know what you're getting with games, it says so on the back. With girls there are all kinds of awesome bullet points designed to get you interested, but then after 3 months they turn into bunny-boiling, moaning dicks.
I'll just leave that with you gentlemen.
Also, she loves Castle Crashers.
