Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Agreed, although Classical music may be a contender for 'highest art'.
A laughable random video game related song I just heard a minute ago heh
but yea i love jazz. that bit about back from a time when musicians could play instruments is hilarious lol.
Dan Houser didn't actually pick the tracks either, he asked his Dad, a big jazz fan, to pick them. His dad also put together a lot of the jazz fusion radio too.
Who initially claimed that?
I find that phrase incredibly biased as a universal claim. I think very highly of Jazz, and Classical Music from a technical standpoint, but isn't art a subjective thing?
the "classical" stuff is beautiful, but when you manage to make an interesting tune with the self imposed limitation of 12 notes, non repeating, or by challenging the players to make up music based on a small poem (and play together), that's high art in both the technical and high aesthetic sense. :)
heh yeah, that is a fun, loaded question :)
The romantic period's real special for me too. Pushing people's buttons and limits of acceptable sound while still respecting Bach's tonality just enough to be incredibly listenable.
