About Me

Yo East Coast, where you at?

Hello, fellow D-toiders, my name is Andrew and I reside in New York City. It has been such an amazing experience being a part of this wonderful community. From my activities as a host of the Friday Night Fight events to becoming one of the community members responsible for handling the Destructoid NY group, coordinating East Coast meetups to helping the PAX meetup group, I have loved every minute of my time spent with this community.

Please hang out with other Dtoid members whether it would on the main site or chatting to your local Dtoid group. It can be life changing, trust me on that.

The worst idea for a videogame yet.

"Hey bro, have you heard of this new videogame that is supposed to come out for the Wii?"
"Is it another Madden game?"
"Naw, its called Beer Pong. We can play beer pong on our Wii.
"Dude, that is awesome."
"Totally"
Beer Pong, a game born on a college campus in the early 80s, has grown from a college drinking game to a competitive sport in bars across the country. In mid June 2008, Beer Pong is going to be available for WiiWare™, Frat Party Games™ – Beer Pong is the first slated game in the Frat Party Games™ series.

Featuring two distinct competitive games, Frat Party Games™ – Beer Pong will offer a traditional tournament-style game of Beer Pong for one to four players and Speed Pong, during which two to three players compete at the same time, each trying to be the first to eliminate all of his or her cups.

Frat Party Games™ – Beer Pong has been designed exclusively for WiiWare™, with accurate and easy to use controls. Frat Party Games™ – Beer Pong will feature three different play environments and allow players to choose from multiple tabletops to enhance the playing environment.

Trailer

So, what is next for the Frat Party Games series? The Keg Stand game with the Wii Balance Board? Excuse me while I go hit my head against a wall because it seems more entertaining than this.

I've never understood the point of playing a game that makes me drink. I do that all the time.

This is a casual game for the hardcore audience that loves beer pong so much that they want to play it, even when they are so insanely drunk that they can't stand up.

I...don't really understand their logic behind this. Anyone who is old enough to buy beer pong will be too busy actually playing beer pong, and kids that aren't old enough probably won't be allowed to play it. Dumb idea is dumb.

Come on, intarwebs, bring on the facepalm images.

If you need games to drink, then you are terrible at drinking.

Well i bet some people will buy this when they are drunk with their mates thinking it's stupid and funny. I guess thats what the developers are aiming for too.

I'd play it so I could brag to people about my Beer Pong skills. I wouldn't be lying, right?

/facepalm

I hate the game in real life and I hate the idea of becoming a video game even more.

I've played beer pong from Game Party... and the controls are fucking awful. I played tourney style with a bunch of non gamers and I won because I was the only one who understood how the wiimote sensors actually work.

But come on people, you know this Wii shovelware is going to sell a shit ton.

Beer pong is played at frats because it is a way to force you to drink the piss water that they call beer. Seriously, if you turn drinking bad beer into a game of drunken skill, it's much easier to drink. That's why I play anyway.

In the game, I hope the ball collects pubes when it fall on the floor just like in real life. And then through the magic of interconnectivity you can blow into your DS mic to clean it off, just like in real life, and continue play.

I don't even play this in real life. Why the fuck do I want it on the Wii?

I'm going to go play some beer pong without the table and cups, or as I like to call it, "drink until I forget I saw that."
