This is tommorow's comic There is a possible rumor that is going around that Jeff Gertsmann was fired for his poor review of Kane and Lynch because it bothered Eidos as a potential advertiser This is a quote from the rumor starter via Neogaf "I only have second-hand information, so I don't feel comfortable relating any of it. But, did y'all notice there was no "On The Spot" show today? And no reviews went up? The staff are, to put it mildly, skittish." If this true, and the reason he was fired was because of his editorial opinion. Gamespot has lost all journalistic integrity.

Especially since he gave AC a 9!! But seriously, I don't care about review scores (though I still find that discrepency amazing). If this is true though, it's really fucking sad.
It's Gamespot. I actually like 1up (though their PSU review was a little suspect).
And Kane & Lynch doesn't deserve any higher than a 6, the game had a good story and was a great idea, but Eidos just didn't make it fun.
Not that I'm a Gamespot fan or anything but I think it's insanely idiotic that he would have lost employment for DOING HIS JOB.
I was refering to the score not the quality of the review
Unfortunately, in the eyes of some gamers a 6 is poor review score.
And if this rumor is true, Eidos thinks so too.
I'm pretty sure Eidos doesn't have the clout to pressure an independent website into firing a key reviewer.

Gabe says its true
Also, the only game he reviewed out the the games that you guys have listed is Kayne & Lynch. Other people reviewed AC and Mass Effect. And if u want to go complain about a review score, just be quiet about it and go enjoy the game for yourself.
Thank you. I hate when people assume Jeff reviews every goddamn game ever invented or something. AC and Mass Effect were both reviewed by Kevin VanOrd.
if he hated it, why give it a 6!?
