There have been many times where I seen people ask where is Who's Next. I have been wonding the same thing. I think we have an answer to that question. Pete, please explain.
"johnmcdonald: Back in 2004 Tommy was remixed for the 5.1 DVD-Audio format. At the time, rumours suggested that you were working on 5.1 mixes for the other albums, such as Who’s Next and Quadrophenia. Are these remixes ever likely to be released? PETE: That’s right. I gave up on Quadrophenia as I decided I really want to re-record a director’s cut of it (the way Jean Michel Jarre has just done with Oxygene). One day I will do this if I get time. Who’s Next, it turns out, is no longer a complete set of masters. An entire side has been stolen from our vaults at some point. These things happen. Someone, somewhere, has it in a cupboard and is waiting for us to die? What then? No, not only have my dreams of a complete Who discography in Rock Band but we won't be seeing Who's Next anytime soon. Are you guys saddened by this news as well?

Well, so where did they get this "remastered" version they released a few years ago? If the masters vanished between now and then, then they'd do well to start interviewing people who they worked with back then and find out what doop took them.
And to another point, why are they bothering to remix these albums in 5.1? They sound fine in quadrophonic sound. It's far better than anything else from that time.
