Hello, fellow D-toiders, my name is Andrew and I reside in New York City. It has been such an amazing experience being a part of this wonderful community. From my activities as a host of the Friday Night Fight events to becoming one of the community members responsible for handling the Destructoid NY group, coordinating East Coast meetups to helping the PAX meetup group, I have loved every minute of my time spent with this community.
Please hang out with other Dtoid members whether it would on the main site chat to your local Dtoid group. It can be life changing, trust me on that.

My biggest fears have been confirmed. GH:WT has the worst HUD in rhythm game history. Ironically enough, this trailer has been taken down from GT. I wonder why? Good luck, Neversoft, you are going to need it. Picture:

Needs more lights and movements.......Hopefully they do some tweaks.
I wouldnt say it sucks... it just doesnt look as good as rb2.

OK, ROCK BAND 2 IT IS!!! THE NEVERSOFT FANBOY HAS SPOKEN!!!
In its current state, it will be very difficult to read all of the information provided in the top left corner. Also, the vocal chart looks like a mess.
Looks meh alright but aslong as the custom track-making and the tracklist for the game is solid then im ok with a half-assed HUD.
It's like Rock Band, except ugly.

I have high hopes for this, but damn that looks god awful. =( I'll probably still buy it.
They tried their hardest, god bless 'em, but it just wasn't good enough.

Honestly from watching that video I don't see how anyone can make a judgement on how the HUD looks. The video is very grainy and I can barely tell what's going on because the quality is so low. I'll wait until I see an HD video to make a decision.
I think it looks like Guitar Hero. They are already getting criticized enough for being called a Rock Band clone, why should they just straight up copy the HUD? I think they are trying to bring their own flavor to the music rhythm band genre. It definitely doesn't look as good as Rock Band, but I'm sure it will work out.
I love that the drums will have cymbals, but I hate how the drum track on screen makes no distinction between them and the regular pads. It would take a long time for me to get used to seeing pads and cymbals out of identically-shaped notes. Good thing I don't plan on buying this.
It really doesn't look that bad, it just doesn't look as efficient.

the only problem I really cared about was that I could not tell where the hell the bass notes are for the drums
they all look the same to me, anyway, your only gona be lookin at the notes
I can barely see the parts for the bass pedal. At all.
I didn't think it looked that bad, just not as clean as Rock Band
