I am sure a lot of you don't I have another identity online. Aside from spending 2/3 of my life on video games, stopping crime and wearing spandex, I also spend it on shoes - sneakers to be exact. So much so is this 'addiction', that I am part of an invite-only online sneaker community Sneaker Play (add me if you are on it as well).

I have noticed a few gaming related models starting to pop up here and there. But my question is -- Why do they have to be so hideous? Lets take a look:


I mean come on, who would wear anything like that. Unless you live in a farm and really don't care about fashion, these shoes are a HUGE NO.



These kicks from Run Athletics, are not horrid, but they do lack more appeal. Take out the gaming theme design and TA-DA! You have a pair of shoes you could have bought a Payless.



What can I say about this Pro-Keds piece? Maybe saying that these look like what came out of me after lots of cotton candy, ice cream and a ride at the Evolution at a carnival - But maybe that's not enough. I think there are better ways to say "Arcade" without making it look like an acid trip.



For shoes from a well known brand, these are just terrible. For all the years PlayStation has been around you mean to tell me that the only thing that came to mind was some patent leather and horrible default Photoshop gradient? Give me a break. Sad thing about this whole sneaker is that is worth $2,300.
