A year today since I joined destructoid. I can’t really believe a year has gone by, never before have I ever entered a community like this and never wanted to leave. I love it. Over the year A LOT has happened! I’ve seen so much shit go down, so many lol’s and so many people come and go this is my 1 year anniversary post…

Never forget – The day Nex left. A narcissist? He’s TO GREAT to be a narcissist! One of destructoids most cynical writers ever. You think Jim is bad? I urge you to go back and read some on nex’s greatest work. You may still hear his sweet voice over the old podtoid as well. Sex, drugs and obscure rock and roll. Nex is currently working for wired and will drop his pants for money.




Never forget – Jim Sterling’s arrival. With the Brits lacking any form of luster in the Gaming world Jim sterling was our saving grace. But he didn’t just arrive. Oh no, the destructoid meme, ‘who the fuck is Jim sterling?’ was born!

Never Forget – Start of the C’blogs. Shock and horror! A life without C’blogs (clogs)? Why yes good sir, it be true! Way back when I originally joined, the forums were where it was at! Where your post count was your E-penis and where the n00bs were weeded out. Properly. The forum were where it was at, and although the life is returning, it’s never been the same since. It’s a place where real intros are made, where random posts are actively encouraged (in the correct topics mind you), where your thread can stay on the front page for more than 3.5seconds and where you can come for a decent verbal raping.

Never forget - Athestiums first C’blog post. Now we all know how our girl loves to give her opinion, well this time she really went for it. The first C’blog post to ever be placed on the front page, with over 200diggs and a that lead to some of the most high profile female gamers to get there knickers in a twist, it was Athesitum’s Girl gamer rant. Probably one of the best to date. It is DEFINATLY worth looking up.


Never forget – Male nerdcore. Thanks to Athestiums Female gamer post a new, more disturbing form of nerdcore was born, a type that would burn through the soul of CTZ, leaving him to be an empty shell of the man he once was. MALE NERD CORE. Such pictures of taped up nipples and oddly placed poke balls can still be found lingering the dtoid archives.



Never forget – Metal Gear Soild 4 leek – snakes on a mother fucking plane. Ron ‘greybush’ Workman, the PR nightmare himself, made a post, a news breaking post, that Metal gear solid 4, would NOT be a PSTWIPPLE exclusive. INNERNET ASPLODE!!!!! The post ended with one of the biggest comment numbers in Dtoid history, over 1000! Sony fanboys everywhere wept. It was awesome! Never forget – Rob Summa. Okay Nex leaving was a kick in the crotch, Rob summa leaving? Well that left more of a warm tingly sensation. Rob Summa was one of dtoids editors, general Sony fanboy and a man with a very mixed reception. Many dtoiders were left with a bitter feeling after his departure, make of him what you will. I think it’s fair to say not many miss him.



Never Forget – Nikole. Now let me tell you a story, a story about a man, who met a girl. This man *cough rob summa* did fuck her and dump her, and her heart, was sadly broken. LOL! Nikole can now be found as a blogger for the world famous and highly acclaimed girlgamer.com and thegirlgamers.com, applying for G3 contests and on such high budget show a GGtv. Nikole enjoys photographing herself while covering her breast with gaming peripherals or while wearing underwear. However, hell hath no fury like a women scored, so in response to her recent dumping she left a lovely little post giving us a little insight into his PENIS SIZE, what was that Nikole? Never forget – Stickam YAYM&MS![/b] Ventrillo has always been the more popular hang out for the dtoid crew, yet last summer, Stickam took over, Allowing dtoiders to have both mics and web cam on at the same time, proving that Phist was actually Asian and was not a women (sorry if he lead you to believe otherwise). We also got to see mid3vols ferrets and watch her sleep. Stickam is slowly making a come back and if you wanna join in, jut search for yayM&Ms in the stickam general chat section.

Never forget – Clover G. Dtoiders have a very good habit of ‘calling bullshit’ on PURE attention whores. Those who were around in the hay day of the Forums will remember the ‘post a picture of yourself thread’. Her stomping ground, until Bullshit was finally called. Miss G can now be found on WoW convincing guys to give her gold and buy her things.

Never forget – Mamma Donnas Intro Thread. For those who actually bother to read the intro thread on the forum (or read the forum at all) will know of this legendary thread. This 10page thread is crammed full of juice boobies and was the predecessor of mamma Donna Manboob picture thread. Her intro thread is still going, feel free to show it some love.


Never forget – Bluewolf72. How many wolfs need to die? Well most would probably ay just the one….
When the C’blogs opened, Dtoiders everywhere jumped on the bandwagon posting everything and anything, and none more so than Bluewolf72. Dtoiders went nuts when bluewolf could have 10post on the page at anyone time, often containing little more than a link or a youtube vid. Bluewolf72 was on of the first reason that called for harsher regulations on the C’blogs. Bluewolf72 was also banned for making the elusive dtoid radio.


Never Forget – FAIL BLOGS. Okay we have been seeing a lot of these lately right kids? Most of us hate them and will attempt to ‘tell on them’ or flame them to hell and back, I dunno about you, but I love nothing more than to kick back a watch the drama llama do his thang….


Never forget – The Rev’s Zelda twilight princess review. Okay so we all love the Zelda. For most people this is featured somewhere in there top 10 easily, Yet when one of the best reviewers on the dtoid team gives it a 4, hell brakes loose. Big props to rev for not fearing the flames, Some people like there meat well done….
