As far as video games go, I've been a gamer since I was two-and-a-half. I try to play whatever interests me, despite what other people think of those games. I don't consider myself to be a "casual" gamer, but I also don't take games unbelievably seriously. They're games, after all. They're meant to be enjoyed, not obsessed over. I never base whether I buy a game or not on a single review -- I have to try the game for myself to be totally sure.

Okay, so like most of us, I just downloaded Mega Man 9. I could have gotten it on Thursday on the PS3, which I was seriously considering doing, but then again, the Wii remote turned sideways still feels the best for old-style sidescrollers, in my opinion, so I got it for that today. I love the game, don't get me wrong. I love the old style, I love the gameplay, and I love Mega Man. But there's one problem I have with the WiiWare version. One problem that has persisted in Wii games, and something that I totally forgot to look into before I spent my $10 today:
You can't back your save up. I seriously don't understand this. It's one small file, one file that keeps track of how much you've done. Isn't that something you'd like to protect? I know I would. Also, I'd much rather bring just my save to a friend's house instead of hauling the entire Wii over there if my friend has the same game. Is that so much to ask? Ugh... I know I'm just complaining now, but I think this is a legitimate complaint. I love the Wii, but this is my number-one gripe with the system --- Over the crappy online, over the slew of shovelware games, over the sometimes sub-par graphics. There's an SD card slot in the system. You put it there, Nintendo. LET US USE IT. You'll be able to copy your save to an SD card on the PS3 version, guaranteed. Even though this game will undoubtedly feel better on the Wii, I'm still pissed that saves can't be backed up.

I'm not getting it anyways but that's a great thing to consider.
Yeah I can copy all my game saves other than my saves for Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart, it's bloody annoying.
The whole Wii memory issue is stupid, really.
Between the Wii's save issue and the crappy D-pad on the 360, maybe the PSN MM9 is the version to get. Not trying to start a flame war, just sayin'.
Does suck.
But, in this case, I can live with that. Losing all my progress in a Mega Man game doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world.

That won't work. You can back up most game saves, but a few key ones won't let you, like MM9, Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. It's fucking ridiculous.

Honestly, if I had a few extra bucks to blow, I'd actually REBUY it on the PS3. But I just paid $10, and I don't want to again. I DO like the Wii remote sideways better for games like this, but the save issue seriously makes me not want to support it at all.
I agree, I wasn't about to go show off my MM9 save to all my friends. It's just how pointless it is to lock saves like that to the system that pisses me off.
That's right, 360 and PS3 are ports of the Wii version, ha!
Heh, it's true. I still think the Wii version will be the best, but the save thing sucks a ton.
I love how many people came in here saying that this is proof the Wii sucks. Sad, sad people.
I like all the swag, but I'll actually pass on the game together, but let me get one thing straight:

EXACTLY. That save is fucking huge, and you can't do anything with it.

You can save, yes, but once you do, you can't back that save up to an SD card. For example, when Nintendo's new system comes out (which will undoubtedly be backwards compatible with Wii games), games like Mega Man 9, Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and so many others, you'll have to play through them all over again, just to get the same stuff you already did, because you can't copy the saves to the SD card.

The problem is once you save it, you can't copy it to the SD card.

I'm not necessarily complaining specifically about Mega Man 9, but the fact that more and more Wii games are doing this. It's more of a storage issue than anything else.
