Top Ten Saddest Moments in Gaming History
ogmaster | 2:40 PM on 11.23.2009 7 comments

These are the moments... in which even the most manly men (pretending or otherwise) actually show an emotion.

The moments that are sad, poignant, moving, involving or any of the other myriad of adjectives I'm using to make myself look perspicacious.

Very strange list. I found a couple to be questionable.

*Spoilers*

You appear to have missed:

Green dying at the end of Gunstar Heroes and Persona 4 when Nanako dies

*/spoilers*

But yeah, this list had too many really old games for it to be halfway passable as a real indicator of many people's lists. Hell, I hadn't played more than half of them. I do now want to replay MGS though...

Uhhh, Final Fantasy VII? I don't care how cliche it is to say that her death is tragic, I almost literally cried!

Lufia 2's ending. I thought it was very emotional for its time.

The only thing that I approve of on this list is the metal gear scene (even tough the scene itself never took place story-wise). I find it rather hard to connect with 32bit gfx and etc.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
