I bought FFX last Monday, and had nearly finished it by this Friday, I didn't even play it through every day. FF12 took me much longer, although I was a sidequesting fiend.
Anyways, good luck in your endeavor, hope to see some updates as the year goes by.

Crisis Core won't take you too long if you're shooting just for the main quest/story. Here's a hint: if you don't want to fight monsters try running along the very edges of rooms, paths, and not cutting corners seemed to drop my random encounters down to almost 0%.
@Lurfadur
I have literally done nothing of the main quest since I unlocked the missions. FF3 is first in my sight really since I'm so close to the end of it.

wow! i really try to beat all of them but if its a crap game i just can't get into then i won't.
maybe you just don't like them but can't bring yourself to realise it?

@Qraze
That really isn't the case, the games I've started but haven't finished I've had an absolute blast with but something has stopped me playing them at some point and I've just never gone back.

I just picked up Digital Devil Saga, myself. I started playing my friend's copy this weekend and it's awesome so far. Persona's 3 and 4 are two of the best games I've played --- I'd go for those first. They'll make you love JRPGs that much more.
Good luck on with all that...

Wow. I thought i was crazy trying to play every FF game that can be played on a psp, but youre on a whole new level.
Having recently just tried to finish Crisis Core, i give you leave to let that one go. I found the combat became a real chore, either boring or frustrating (which was a bit of a disappointment, considering how fun it was to start with). But hey, i didnt really do anything anyway, it was all the random chance of the DMW. The cutscenes etc are worth seeing though, luckily they are all youtube :P.

I just poured about 50 hours into Eternal Sonata for the full 1000 achievement points :) It gave me incentive to play through the Encore hard mode.... fucking great game.
I have an almost exact dilemma, but I'm going to live with it. Good luck dude, try not to lose your mind.
Hahahaha, my list is bigger than that. That's so sad. I have games still to beat on the older systems. :( Good luck to you.
hahahahaha good luck with that buddy. At least you got a drought on your side! I have a similar sized backlog. Maybe less, but no JRPGs, so they should take maybe 10 or more hours each.
The fact that I have a 7-page research paper to do doesn't help though.
Fuck, I need to get to work.

Its not a JRPG in the sense that it wasn't developed in Japan, however it shares many sensibilities with a JRPG. The turn-based battle system is more Final Fantasy than anything else Bioware's ever made.

hmm, their has got to be a reason why, maybe intimidation? i do the same thing but only when i'm at the last area. maybe once its done you won't have the incentive to play it anymore? how many times did you beat kh1 and 2? could be you want to play them but mentally investing time into them may pull you from other games? do you like playing newer games to older ones? meaning newly released.
there is a reason and i'm only trying to help you get to the bottom of it, i do something similar with certain other genres.

Good luck dude, don't play ever SINGLE GAME ALL AT ONCE.
Take them down one at a time. I only have 3 JRPG's to finish, so it's not that bad for me.

I NEVER finish JRPG's. My backlog is probably in comparison to yours. I think the only one's I have ever finished are Kingdom Hearts II and Persona 4.
Strangely enough, i finished some of your unfinished list but could not get even near those kingdom games. I felt so wrong playing that.
Also, you could not emulate breath of fire and chrono trigger. Not playing them on an emulator doesn't let you not speed them up. Just not saying.
That said, god speed.
