I'm sure it would be funny if the guy stopped trying to be Yahtzee long enough to slow he speech and actually articulate his words clearly.
Other than that, GameStop sucks. I know this and I dont even live in the US. :)
Poor Yahtzee being ripped off...
On-Topic: Fortunately I live in a country where people believe GameStop is a mental illness, because they never heard of it (because it doesn't exist here). Hurray!
haha this was pretty entertaining.
I watched part of one of the videos, and it sounded like he was complaining that GameStop is trying to make money (it had to do with used sales). Uh, what? I was a manager for many GameStop stores for more years than I'd like to admit, and there are a lot of things wrong with GameStop (both internally and on customer level) but seriously, them trying to make more money is not a valid complaint. Bottom line: they're a business!
I actually enjoyed that.
I didn't last a minute before closing. ugh
I know gamestop is evil but... really? 70+ minutes of this? wow.
@ Nick.
Yes but they get money by sacrificing customer service and quality. Whereas other companies try to improve them for more customers.
fuckin' saved it on my HD, lol
I'm gonna sound like a jerk in a few seconds, but this video was posted on a cblog about 10 or so entries before yours. :/
Either way, yeah... GameStop.
agrees with Video cognito, i saw this on kotaku yesterday
entertaining but at some points, annoying because the guy is talking so fast and he's not telling me anything I don't already know... so far...
I don't understand the hate for gamestop doing this. There are a ton of stores that do this sort of thing.
They aren't lying about anything. They aren't trying to coverup anything. It's not a conspiracy.
Even when I was 8 I knew that trading games in was a ripoff, and that was before gamestop.
I think a lot of the problem with GameStop is that they just hire morons. Where I worked we advised people NOT to buy refurbished systems, and also made sure to test all systems that came in. We also refused to take ridiculously scratched games.
So, it really depends on the store.
I think there are plenter of non-gamers who don't understand how GameStop works or even what their other options are. For someone like me it serves a kind of a funny, nostalgic look at a company where I used to work. Ah...the good ol' days.
Why spend your free time (did he say three thousand frames) in an effort to replicate someone else's work? Communicate your ideas without shamelessly robbing someone's pre-established style. What a waste.
the UK thankfully has it's own british varient called GAME, but true gamers shop online and/or at local franchises
The more times I see these videos, the more times I think the guy who put them together is really just a bitter employee who's telling us what we already knew.
Just watched all 9 videos. Seems like Gamestop is alot worse than GAME over here.
I actually logged into my YouTube account just to vote those down. The creator deserves a slap in the face for ripping off Yathzee and stating the obvious.
They're trying to make money. What exactly is wrong with that? They're a bit aggressive, but they have to be: Best Buy is breathing down their fucking neck at all times, as are the many other retailers who sell games.
Pre-order offers are annoying, but that's my only real complaint against them.
@nintendoll
yeah, because some gamestops I've been to have really sucked, but other ones have been really helpful.
I did actually overhear an employee telling a kid that he was being ripped off. Of course, the kid wanted to trade in anyway. You don't care when you're 8.
He really needs to work on his audio.
This guy tells it like it is, but I really wish he would learn to speak clearly.
The last time I ever entered a Gamestop was when I wanted to get the Metal Gear Solid Essentials collection. They didn't have it in stock New except for the floor model, which was unsealed and had the discs removed from the box. The clerk wanted to sell me this for full price. I kindly asked him if he was seriously going to sell me an opened, unsealed game for the price of a new game. He then laughed at me and replied yes, to which I promptly responded that he should proceed to sodomize himself with a rusted exhaust pipe.
I haven't stepped into a store since, and neither should you.
Nice find. Doubt I'll watch that much of it, but worth a look at least.
And you're right about it depending on the store. The store I briefly worked at was pretty crummy, but the other store in town I occasionally moonlighted at was a lot better. Better manager, better storefront, and better customers.
@Video Cognito
Oops, where was that? If you give me a link, I'll throw it up the the article. I try not to post what's already been done ;_;
Also, this isn't that old. Dude posted it like..a week ago?
Yea GameStop is just horrible.
They sell opened games as new,
They give virtually nothing for trade ins,
Most employees are self-righteous dweebs w/ attitude problems (which we all know is over-compensation for their low self-esteem),
They monopolize pre-orders & annoy the hell out of you to pre-order everything coming out in the next year every time you so much as wander by.
probably a bunch of other things too but I haven't had a chance to watch all those vids.
*complains about blah blah blah biting yahtzee's style and blah blah blah*
uh...xbox.
I believe its an homage.
Pretty entertaining. He does need to learn to speak in clearer fashion though.
Video no work no more.
