Old-school gamer. I started gaming with the Atari 2600. I became an addict with the arcade release of Street Fighter II at my college. The SNES release pushed me into buying that system and a lame arcade stick. I haven't looked back since then. I still consider the 16-bit to be the Golden Age of gaming. The current generation is keeping me pretty happy, especially with the fighting game renaissance that's happening lately. And, yes, I'm old.

I saw a listing in the E3 Wii release dates for the rest of 2008 that caught my eye. UFO is releasing Ultimate Shooter Collection. My first thought was "is that a shmup collection?"Today I was able to find the box art.
Looks like the Radirgy/Chaos Field/Karous collection will be released in the U.S. Glorious news, citizens. Knowing UFO, it will be pushed back and cost $30. Ultimate Shoting Collection has a scheduled release date of September 23.

Nintendo's strategy sells consoles, but it doesn't keep people playing them.
This is a good thing for the shmup scene. We need more of this stuff. If it's not your thing, please politely buzz off and let us bask in the glory. ;) ;)
