Old-school gamer. I started gaming with the Atari 2600. I became an addict with the arcade release of Street Fighter II at my college. The SNES release pushed me into buying that system and a lame arcade stick. I haven't looked back since then. I still consider the 16-bit to be the Golden Age of gaming. The current generation is keeping me pretty happy, especially with the fighting game renaissance that's happening lately. And, yes, I'm old.

It's been a week since the contest started. 11 players completed their games. This has been a great experience thus far. I'm expecting it to get even better. The talent in this competition is amazing and constantly getting better. Now, without further ado...

The Rankings
1. Kirbilot - 5 wins, 0 losses
2. (tie) Zoel and Senisan - 2 wins, 3 losses
3. (tie) TheCleaningGuy and BulletTrain - 1 win, 4 losses

Most Improved Player of the Week
The first time I player CWal37, it was not pretty. It was a one-sided battle, honestly. In the week before the contest, he hit the training hard. He did not score a win, but the matches were closer than before and I expect to see him improve further. Good job, CWal37.

Worst Beatdowns I Received
2 players handed me hardcore beatdowns this week - Senisan and Kirbilot.

Kirbilot not only beat me technically, he defeated my composure. He's playing Benimaru/Andy/Terry.

Senisan's beatdown was clearly a shot across my bow. He's out to let me know that shit ain't like that.

Other Exciting Matches
One of my favorite matches this week was vs. Senisan. I'm player 1 (Kyo/Kim/Joe).

The other great match was with casualweaponry. He was out to prove something to senisan using me as the messenger.

Week 2 Begins Now
I'll be on for all of the scheduled times. Find me. Face me. Defeat me. Surpass me, surpass the other players and, more importantly, surpass your skills and transcend. Let the games begin.

This deserves some faps just for the effort going into it. I'd join the matches if I had my PS3. King of Fighters XII online is one of the only reasons why the slim calls out to me right now. I don't NEED a PS3 because I have so many PS2 games I still haven't even played, but KoF XII with some D-Toiders sounds very nice.

It's nice to be in those rankings, considering my one win was a lucky kick just before time ran out. Kirbilot's score is incredible. I'm almost afraid to play against him again!
I really enjoyed our matches this week, I can't wait to have a few more rounds soon!

I may have gone a bit downhill since then actually. I couldn't play at all over the week because I was busy, so don't expect to see me challenging you the first day of the week again. I need to polish it up a bit, but instead of vidyagames I'm going kayaking tomorrow which I love.

I'm going to be working throughout the week to see if I can't get my connection issues cleared up. I still can't get over how much that little bit of input lag totally screwed my game. I'm almost of a mind to buy a plane ticket to Oklahoma and play you in person to eliminate it, haha.

I'm getting better though. I just need to figure out what I can punish with what and I'll be good to go.
