Old-school gamer. I started gaming with the Atari 2600. I became an addict with the arcade release of Street Fighter II at my college. The SNES release pushed me into buying that system and a lame arcade stick. I haven't looked back since then. I still consider the 16-bit to be the Golden Age of gaming. The current generation is keeping me pretty happy, especially with the fighting game renaissance that's happening lately. And, yes, I'm old.

King of Dtoiders 2009 Week 2 rankings

Week 2 was absolutely amazing. The community has really stepped up its game and forced me to improve my game. Early in the week, I felt my Kim had improved and then everyone decided to ruthlessly stomp the champion of justice and Tae Kwon Do. This has steeled my resolve to become a better Kim player and to obtain one more OCV with him. I cannot express in words how impressed I am with the evolution of play in the last week.

Before I get to the rankings here are some statistics I worked up:
Week 1 Community Record: 11 wins, 44 losses. That's a 20% win ratio
Week 2 Community Record: 19 wins, 40 losses. That's a 32% win ratio

That's a vast improvement in one week. I expect Week 3 will not be pretty for me.

Most Improved Player of the Week
This week saw a lot of player improvement. Jack of no Trades, Y0jimb0 and casualweaponry all placed their first wins on the board. Senisan doubled his number of wins; he has 2 in Week 1 and 4 in Week 2. It was a tough call but the Most Improved Player of Week 2 is BulletTrain. BT has 1 win in Week 1 and 3 wins in Week 2. These wins brought him to 3rd place but, more importantly, his play was tighter and more brutal.

A few announcements
We've lost a few players. Tewdee is taking a break from fighters. This saddens me. He is one of the organizers of Shoryuken Saturdays and I've spent several Saturday nights playing him at KoF XII. I hope he's back into fighters soon. Gen Eric Gui has stepped out of the contest due to technical issues. He's using a friend's PS3 and we haven't been able to get a good connection.

Heh yeah It takes me a while to get the feel of a game so I know what I can and can't get away with.

Hey, just wanted to add: I'm sorry I wasn't able to make the competition! I've been knee deep in reviews lately, as this week I have 5 to complete, and the past few weeks have been really busy.

I have a feeling you'll be playing this for quite a while, so I'll definitely hop on for some matches for fun when I'm free!
