King of Dtoiders 2009 - The Final Countdown
nilcam | 11:02 AM on 10.02.2009 6 comments

The end is near; in fact it's less than 48 hours away. There are 5 players still in the contest who have not played their last 5 games. I may be on tonight, but I make no promises because I'll be at Zombieland and Coolgreens. If it works out, I might be on around 9:30 or so. I will also be online tomorrow during the day and at the scheduled time 7-10pm or until the games are completed. 25 games in 2 days. Let's do this.

I will post the winners either late Saturday or early Sunday. That post will also contain a few final videos and some comments on my experience with the contest. See you then.

Good luck to everyone involved. I'm incredibly jealous of the people who are able to get solid connections for this game. I feel so left out :(

Even though I don't think I'm eligible to win anything anymore, I have thoroughly enjoyed out matches nil... I WILL BEAT YOU!

I'll try to get in my matches tonight if I catch you on. I doubt I can repeat last weeks performance, but we'll see!

There is far too much Ash ass in that picture.
Can't wait to see the final standings though!

Comments policy

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

 about me

Old-school gamer. I started gaming with the Atari 2600. I became an addict with the arcade release of Street Fighter II at my college. The SNES release pushed me into buying that system and a lame arcade stick. I haven't looked back since then. I still consider the 16-bit to be the Golden Age of gaming. The current generation is keeping me pretty happy, especially with the fighting game renaissance that's happening lately. And, yes, I'm old.

Proud owner of: Kiwi Gameboy Color, GBA SP, GBA Micro, PSP 3000, White DS Lite, Silver NeoGeo Pocket, purple SwanCrystal, SNES, Genesis, N64, purple Gamecube, slim PS2, Dreamcast, Wii and PS3.

Favorite Games: Last Blade 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Mark of the Wolves, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Zelda: Minish Cap, Dark Stalkers, King of Fighters, Mega Man ZX, Ikaruga, Macross: Do You Remember Love, Raiden Trad, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Valkyria Chronicles, Professor Layton, Killer7

Games on my mind:
Super Street Fighter II HD Remix (PS3)
Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Wii)
Samurai Shodown Anthology (Wii/PS2)
King of Fighters XII (PS3)
BlazBlue (PS3)
