About Me

Old-school gamer. I started gaming with the Atari 2600. I became an addict with the arcade release of Street Fighter II at my college. The SNES release pushed me into buying that system and a lame arcade stick. I haven't looked back since then. I still consider the 16-bit to be the Golden Age of gaming. The current generation is keeping me pretty happy, especially with the fighting game renaissance that's happening lately. And, yes, I'm old.

Proud owner of: Kiwi Gameboy Color, GBA SP, GBA Micro, PSP 3000, White DS Lite, Silver NeoGeo Pocket, purple SwanCrystal, SNES, Genesis, N64, purple Gamecube, slim PS2, Dreamcast, Wii and PS3.

Favorite Games: Last Blade 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Mark of the Wolves, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Zelda: Minish Cap, Dark Stalkers, King of Fighters, Mega Man ZX, Ikaruga, Macross: Do You Remember Love, Raiden Trad, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Valkyria Chronicles, Professor Layton, Killer7

Games on my mind:
Super Street Fighter II HD Remix (PS3)
King of Fighters XII (PS3)
King of Fighters XIII
King of Fighters 2k2: UM (PS2)
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (PS3)

Halfway point on the HRAP mod

I received the new parts today. I bought some new tools to make modding easier on Saturday so I couldn't resist putting in the new parts. I'll have to take it all apart again when the new plexi, art and washer arrives but it'll be worth it. I think the stick looks very good without the art but I think it will be incredible once I have all of the parts in place. There's a real sense of empowerment when you start to learn about the hardware you use.

As you can see, the red, yellow, blue and green buttons are in the SNK positions. I've decided to go with a non-traditional button layout which matches the Neo Geo hardware since I now play more 4 button fighters than 6 button fighters. It makes more sense to me to lay out the buttons in such a way that all SNK fighters will not require reassignment. The clear buttons are R1 and L1 with each on the proper side. I'll definitely post the finished pictures in a few weeks,

You make some sick sticks man. I can't wait to see the finished product. :)

Question on your SNK layout:how do you have the buttons bound? In what order? It is like...

That's the standard NeoGeo layout.

Very sexy! Also, that's the layout I use for KoF games.
But where did Shingo go?
