About Me

Old-school gamer. I started gaming with the Atari 2600. I became an addict with the arcade release of Street Fighter II at my college. The SNES release pushed me into buying that system and a lame arcade stick. I haven't looked back since then. I still consider the 16-bit to be the Golden Age of gaming. The current generation is keeping me pretty happy, especially with the fighting game renaissance that's happening lately. And, yes, I'm old.

Proud owner of: Kiwi Gameboy Color, GBA SP, GBA Micro, PSP 3000, White DS Lite, Silver NeoGeo Pocket, purple SwanCrystal, SNES, Genesis, N64, purple Gamecube, slim PS2, Dreamcast, Wii and PS3.

Favorite Games: Last Blade 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Mark of the Wolves, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Zelda: Minish Cap, Dark Stalkers, King of Fighters, Mega Man ZX, Ikaruga, Macross: Do You Remember Love, Raiden Trad, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Valkyria Chronicles, Professor Layton, Killer7

Games on my mind:
Super Street Fighter II HD Remix (PS3)
King of Fighters XII (PS3)
King of Fighters XIII
King of Fighters 2k2: UM (PS2)
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (PS3)

Gaming conventions and calling all OKC D-toiders

Thanks to Rifter01, I now have plans to go to Tulsa in early August for a classic gaming expo, the Oklahoma Video Game Expo. Lots of classic games and systems to peruse and buy and tons of old arcade games to play. All of that and it's only $3 to get in. I grew up in New Orleans and have never had the chance to attend an expo like this. Consider me there.

Hearing from Rifter01 made me wonder if there are other OKC resident D-toiders. If you live in the Oklahoma City area, leave a comment. If we have enough people, a NARP may be in order.

I planned on going with a couple of friends myself. I live in Choctaw (suburb of OKC) but didn't intend to divulge myself with a party and whatnot. Not much the partying kind of person.

At one of the events here everyone had an 'after event party' .. From what I read it was better than the actual event (due to event low turnout & sponsors bailing halfway before the event ended).. I couldn't make it because I had a foot injury a week before. :/

I'm anxious for a local narp, that would be pretty ass kicking, I would have to see if anyone from DToidAustin might be up here for it too.. People have been thinking Dallas off/on as a sorta narp hub too just to make it a big blowout.

If I get a job in the area, I'll be there. If not, i won't.

And by area, I mean I applied to places within 200 miles of Tulsa.
