Cryptic Didn't Die with Marvel Universe
niakori | 2:27 PM on 02.21.2008 4 comments

They are back with Champions Online, an old school pen and paper rpg I've never heard of (see age) and what looks like City of Heroes Version 3.0. The game boasts of real time combat (no recharging), customizable powers, and your very own arch nemesis which you create along with your hero.

As I've been saying when they were still slated to do the Marvel Universe MMO, Cryptic learned a lot from cox and whatever they make next will definitely be worth checking out.

Huh.

As a CO* account holder since launch, I think I'm gonna have to try this out.

Looks like a really pretty version of CO*.

I saw this yesterday and was gonna blog about it. Good call saving me the time.

I personally think this game could be amazing. The site claims billions of customizable possibilities including changing your powers' colors and effects and such. Every detail seems to have been accounted for.

I feel as though it could play like a crazy ass version of Crackdown on... well... crack! Only with more super power greatness! I'm really excited and definitely planning on keeping my eye out on this.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
