About Me

Well apart from all the usual dull stuff that most 24 year old scottish guys do I'm going to be starting uni in sepetember, I'm going to abertay in dundee to study computer game technology. I just really hope it will be more useful than my physics degree.

Oh and I'm a bit of a liberal socialist nutjob which means I find more things offensive than Christians do but I can turn the other cheek... most of the time. If you ever see me calling anyone a neo-fascist bastard I'm probably just having a bad day.

I just saw this ad on the telly and i don't think it's too much of stretch for me to say it's the best thing iv seen on ITV in years. Now compare that to any recent game ad. Televised game ads today generally show some in game footage and have some ultra macho voiceover and i'm thinking is that really the route they should be taking. Almost every game company is always talking about how they are trying to appeal to the non-gamers and for me television is the only medium they have for that, non-gamers will never read a gaming mag or go to a gaming website so what's left. Even the internet fails as an advertising medium compared to Tv, with Tv you have a captive audience for 30 seconds which you will never get with a banner on a website. So why don't their television ads cater more to the mainstream? I've never heard any of my non-gaming friends talk about the call of duty ads but those old ratchet and clank ads with the guys in their backyard messing about with weapons, hell everyone found them funny. So yes this was really just an excuse to shove up that awesome pot noodle ad
