Hey guys and gals,
I'm college student out of New Jersey and an avid gamer ever since I could breathe (sorta). I own a NES, two PS2s, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, GBA, GBA SP, DS Lite, a PC, and a Macbook; and I game on them all. Without a doubt my favorite genre is RPGs, I will live and die by them. I wanna say my first RPG that really hooked me was Final Fantasy VII, and I've been addicted ever since.
I'm going to school right now trying to obtain my bachelors degree Software Engineering, and ultimately I'd love to enter into the gaming industry.

Most of the races in MMOs are pretty basic, human, orc, elf.
The races Square has created work in the Final Fantasy universe and are very unique. I'm sure they could have created new races, but like they said, they want to draw in their FFXI fanbase and make everyone comfortable with the game. They're similar, but still different. I don't think there is any reason to knock the characters. Coming from someone who played XI for three and a half years... it's not that big of a deal.
And @ Palidi, it's definitely going to have a monthly fee tacked on. The good news is it will be different than XI's system which sucked, and most likely a 30-day recurring charge.
I feel allmost the same way about 13 however versus looks simply fantastic!

The "emo horned things" you speak of are what people speculate to be the Gria race from the land of Ivalice (FF XII/FF Tactics A2).
The person in the leaked magazine scans that people say have horns, I believe is just a regular guy wearing a hat that has feathers on it. Not to mention, the Gria also had wings, and I'm fairly sure were an entirely female race, like the Mithra of FFXI.
yep, what you guys said is totally true. We all right now have tons of mixed feelings for 14. We all know and share the addiction we had from 11 and hope that 14 can surpass that addiction into total Over Dose. But could SE really pull it off this time after 8 years of hearing fanboys cry around the planet?
