My first blog.....about Predaliens.
mudkip5000 | 9:23 PM on 04.13.2008 25 comments

hello everyone. This is my first blog post on dtoid. My friend Mxyzptlk told me to start an account and blog here so I am going to try it out. Here it goes.

BLOG.

I argue with my brother a lot. Not really ever about important things, but things like If Borg assimilated a Jedi, could that jedi borg use force powers....or could the collective use the newly gained knowledge of the force to make certain borgs who have high enough midiclorian levels use the force? Could a Borg eventually learn to adapt to a lightsaber? Who would win in a fight against Godzilla and Cthulhu (I'm going with Godzilla because Lovecraft's descriptions of Cthulhu were written way back when and he could be exaggerating...like when he said that Cthulhu could blink humanity out of existance in the blink of an eye...does that litterally mean "POOF, bye bye humans!" Or does it mean he wouldn't have that hard of a time doing it because he is a big moutnain sized god monster? And How big is mountain sized? Not the size of Mt Everest i think, because Cthulhu picked up that dude and ate him in that one story about the fishermen.......which would make an awesome movie.....The fishermen from deadliest catch go out for crabs and then get Cthulhu'd.....but anyway, mountain sized could mean Godzilla sized, and therefore means he could fight Godzilla...and I'm pretty sure Cthulhu has either Eye Lasers or a Breath Weapon...)

Anyway, today's arguement was about AVP2. I have not seen the movie but it does not matter for what we are arguing. Predaliens....in the movie, predaliens have the Predator Hair tentacle thingies on their heads.

We know that in previous comics and video games they did not have head tentacle hair thingies....but in this movie they do. I personally think they look cool....My brother does not. FWen the facehugger jumps on a creature and lays the egg in their chest, the embryo is fertalized and grows and pops out. It'll pop out looking slightly similar to it's host creautre because of DNA or something, right?

So would a Predalien have head tentacle hair thingies? Yes, I say. It inherited the mouth claw lips and general size of a Predator. SO why not its headgear? Like...a bull alien would grow horns....and a Rhino Alien would have a rhino horn....the alien inherits the traits of its host, so I feel the hair tentacle head thingies would be present.

My brother disagrees completly...but says that the only reason they gave it to them was so that in the movie it'd be easier to distinguish between the two different aliens. I dont know...haven't seen it yet....but that was our discussion..

now for the real question...

what would an Octopus alien look like?

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

Also, having mxy as a friend is like having bob dylan as a father. People will recognize you, but eventually you'll slowly fade away...

I always thought that the Predator dread-locks were a ceremonial process that's a part of their culture. Anyway, whatever. The point is, is it possible for the Borg to assimilate Superman? If so, wouldn't it be totally awesome?

Welcome to Destructoid, I love you.

That flaming Mudkip puts a whole new meaning on "So I heard you like Mudkips." Now i wonder if chicken tastes like Mudkip or if Mudkip tastes like chicken.
Octopus Aliens look like Flying Spaghetti Monsters with only one meatball. And can probably propel themselves through space.

Actually Alien 3 disproves the alien that came out of the dog didn't have a dog nose or anything and the only time the alien got human DNA was in Alien Resurrection Ripplys DNA got spliced with the aliens during cloning.

I'm such an Alien Dork.

Here's the real question. If a Borg could get close enough to a Jedi, which, doesn't seem very hard considering the gigantic trap that was laid out in episode 3 (spoilers), could the Borg develop resistance/adapt to force powers? I know they easily adapt to phasers and eventually all physical weaponry, but the force powers are technically genetic and emotion based. Seeing as how they simply need to program in the data in order to discover an defensive technique, what's to stop them from at least programing a resistance to mind control. I doubt there is anyway they could stop the whole telekinetic side of the force, but they should have little problem with the other stuff. Now is where I can argue with myself about this, since, technically there is still bits of humanity or what ever "ity" left in the host being of the borg, as is shown with Hugh, and later with the more violent and separate Borg from later in the show. So, to end this, Borg pre-Hugh, yes the Jedi are fucked sooner or later, unless they start tossing Borg out of a hatch with telekinesis. Borg post-Hugh, although more aggressive and quicker and stuff, have more control over individuality, which makes them easy targets for those skilled enough in the Force.

Your Turn.

p.s. On the whole predalien thing, It should have the dreads, and the mouth bits, but at a lower less defined state. I mean, when they pop from humans they don't keep the lips or the body hair, or any of the dick/va va voom bits.

Liquidninja: In Alien 3, it did however, retain some bits of the dog. Color was different (which really isn't a dog trait, but shows that it does take different bits of dna), it remained on all four legs, unlike the bipedal ones, and it was much faster, agile, and seemed to have an all around better hunting sense then the "human" aliens.

Also, If Alien comics are canon, then yes they do retain a bit of whatever dna, although it was probably just a marketing ploy to get kids to buy the sweet alien toys.

Oh, well I still think Predalien looked horrible (or maybe just gross). (Ofcourse the whole movie was a bummer.)

free touch: In the discussion I had with my brother about Borgs and Force powers, we both ended up agreeing that Borgs could assimilate Jedis, which would allow the collective to gain knowledge of the force and start implanting that knowledge into borgs with midichlorian levels high enough. Mxyzptlk always argued against us in saying Borg Jedis (or siths) couldn't use force powers....I don't remember why, but ti was something to the nature of the borgs not really having emotion or personalities (except for Hugh and so on as you stated above) or something about them being made of robotic parts....

but then theres Darth vader who is a good portion robot and he sues the force...

So really, we should get Mxyzptlk in on this to argue against.

MrSadistic: I would love to see Superman assimilated by the borg....and I think they could do it too....but a question that always bothered me was if the borg could assimilate Wolverine...or would his healing factor fight off the nanites or whatever that borgify a person.

@mudkip

Well, how would the Borg have enough emotional ability to use the severe force powers when they have no feeling's whatsoever? I mean, I thought the force was in tuned to the emotions of the jedi, hence the whole dark/light/anger/love thing.

blehman: I'd figure the borg would find a way to work around it. Like they'd figure out what level of emotions are needed to use force powers and would tap that amount of emotion into a borg whenever he needs to use a force power. Like if a borg is fighting a klingon, and need to do force lightning...the collective would be all shooting some anger into him for a split second for that he can use force lightning.
