Annie Get Your Gun, English Version Persona 3: FES Slowly Coming True
mteerie | 9:15 PM on 10.23.2007 9 comments

By slowly, I of course mean very quickly.

Yesterday, I posted about the first evidence of the possible North American version of Persona 3: FES. Today, another English-speaking voice actor has done the same, posting Persona 3: FES under his online resume. It seems it’s only a matter a time now before we get official confirmation from Atlus.

Just as Steve Prince (messiah-posturing Strega leader Takaya) had done, Liam O’Brien (confident and reserved Akihiko) has revealed yet another possible Nippon-to-‘merica game; the first being Baroque and now Disaster: Day of Crisis. It seems the place to get the scoop on the latest translations is a professional voice actor’s online résumé.

Now, I need to get back to my own Persona 3. It's December and finals are coming. Also, death.

I've been keeping up with this too by reading the thread on the GameFAQS forums (terrible place, but it has its uses, right?).

It's very surprising news, if you ask me. I honestly never expected FES to come here, so I went ahead and completely spoiled myself on the plot.

Alas.

Still looking forward to it, of course, if it does actually come out.

Considering I haven't even started the game yet, maybe I should have waited before buying Persona 3...

Like so many turn based RPG's, I wanted to like Persona 3, but found it to be a chore for the first two hours, and haven't played it since.

I know I'm probably missing out, but I can't bring myself to play a game where the fun times are so few and far between.

Tron Knotts, yes, P3 has it's downfalls: it chugs and sputters a little while after the starting whistle, and while the dungeon crawling was broken up nicely by the socializing, it still can get pretty monotonous when the game doesn't bait enough for you to enter Tartarus. yet, the game is a shining example of how you can spin the old new again. the dialogue makes a nice split between drama and actual teenage whining and profanity. when given a choice of how to respond, it's not your usual GOOD, EVIL and NEUTRAL responses. you tell the person how you feel, they get pissed off, and it's okay! hell, it's refreshing when you go in for a hug and get a cold shoulder! P3 can be a great tool for people who need a coping concept. P3 really is worth the another look. ACTIONBUTTONDOTNET has a P3 review that's a pretty good read!

I feel like Persona 3 is one of those games I wont play until I get my legs mangled in a horrible car accident and can't go to work for 76 months, or until my fiance dumps me, or I retire at age 80. I felt the same wat about Disgaea, Final Fantasy XII, Fire Emblem, and tons of other high quality turtles.

I know P3 is a good game, just like I know the English Patient is a good move. But I can't prioritize it over more short term forms like Tim and Eric: Awesome Show Great Job.

Just for starters, tomorrow Phoenix Wright 3, Zak and Wiki, Mega Man ZX Advent, and Rondo of Blood for the PSP are coming out. All those games give me near instant gratification, Phoenix with the humor, Zak and Wiki with the wacky puzzles, Mega Man and Rondo with the fast paced 2D action. In minutes, not hours, those games deliver the goods.

How can P3 compete with that?
