CONTEST! 'Tis the season!

I'm not a religious man (or woman, for that matter), so I don't throw around the word "blessed" very often. However, for the life of me, I can't think of a better word to describe my time as part of the Dtoid community. I've made amazing friends and been the recipient of fantastic gifts, all of which has warmed my heart more than words can express. Simply put, Destructoid has made me a better man, a better father, and a better gamer, and I can't imagine my life without it.

So to everyone who has made my time on this Earth more entertaining, enriching and enjoyable, thank you, <3, and happy holidays.

Also, boners.

Now that all the mushy stuff is out of the way, the reason you're here: I'm hosting another contest! Up for grabs this time? Your choice of either a 1600 MS Points card, a $20 PSN card, or a 2000 Wii Points card!

To win, you simply need to do something nice for a fellow gamer by the end of the year. Yep, you're going to have to give a little in order to get a little this time around! The contest is open to anyone in the world (though we may have to work out the details if a non-American wins), and the deadline is December 31st, 2010 at 11:59 p.m.

Not sure where to start? Here are some ideas:

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Have an extra copy of a game lying around? Beat a game and don't plan on going back to it? Gift it to a friend! Sure, you could trade your old games in for credit, but when there are so many of your fellow community members who can't afford to buy every game they want, why not share the love instead?

If you're like me, you've no doubt made some fantastic friends on this site. Why not tell us about one of them? Write a cblog or start a forum thread about why So-and-So is your favorite Dtoider!

Simple, just visit Child's Play and make a donation to help improve the life of an up-and-coming gamer. Those of us with the means to should already be doing this anyway!

Of course, these are just suggestions; let your imagination be your guide! The point is to do something nice for someone else and then come back to this thread and tell us all about it! (Or, even better, encourage the recipient of your kindness to make a comment or blog on your behalf!) Then, after the deadline, I'll post all the entries in a new blog and the Dtoid community will choose the winner!

Three more exclamation points!!!

Still don't get it? It's as easy as 1, 2a, 2b, 3!

1. Do something nice for a fellow gamer!
2a. Tell us about it! (or)
2b. Have the reciptient tell us about it!
3. Cross your fingers and hope you win!

To start things off, I will personally be giving the gift of game to a friend who recently purchased an Xbox 360 but can't afford to buy games for it right now. LawofThermalDynamics has proven himself to be a wonderful addition to the Dtoid community over the last year or so, so it is my pleasure to be able to give him my extra copies of Dead Rising and Borderlands. Law, expect your package soon!

See? That wasn't so hard!

Now get to work!

Also -- before Corduroy Turtle gets here and ruins the fun -- a note to the winners of my poster contest from like 19 years ago: your winnings have been mailed TODAY. I am SO fucking sorry it has taken me this long!
