Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins - how about a non-PSP version?
mockery | 1:08 PM on 09.07.2007 7 comments

Heya Destructoidions,

Does anybody know if there are plans to have Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins released on another system? I don't own a PSP, nor do I want one, but this is the one game I really want to play. I've always been a big fan of the series and the insane difficulty of some of the stages in each game. I know reviews on this one are mixed, but the game itself looks beautiful and I would love to at least see a version of it on the Wii Virtual Console, Xbox Live Arcade or on one of those Capcom collection discs. Just seems like too nice of a game to only be on one portable system.

Any info / shreds of hope / etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thankee,

-RoG-

heh, I saw your banner and name, and was about to ask if you were from I-Mockery.. then I saw your sidebar :P

Love your site BTW.

I haven't looked into the game yet, is it a new game, a port, or an upgraded port?

AngelsDontBurn, couldn't agree more, that's why I'm dying to see it ported to another system.

BahamutZero, I'm sure it is, but I already have a DS and don't want to have to buy another portable system just for one game heheh.

dgenerate, thanks for the compliments on the site man, glad ya dig it. I've been here on Destructoid for a long time actually, just haven't used the blogging feature much since I'm usually busy workin' on my own stuff.

Anyway, the game has been out for a while actually and you can buy it fairly cheap on ebay. Check out this video review of it on Youtube to see how it looks.

Have to say, heard it was bad from 1UP (it's down, so no link). Jeremy Parish is usually pretty accurate for reviewing retro and retro-styled games, and he made a distinction pretty clear: it was ball-busting hard, but not in the well-designed difficulty of the older games but in the poor mechanics way.

Necros, eh, from all the gameplay footage I've seen and other video reviews, it looked just as hard as ever but the mechanics didn't seem bad. A lot of people were complaining about how the double-jump worked, but it seems pretty normal to me.
