The "DOOM" Comic Book

This one is admittedly a bit of self-pimpage, but hey, it's topical...

So, a while back there was a comic book based on the PC game "DOOM". It was a free comic book given out at conventions, but upon reading it, you'd still feel like you got ripped off somehow. Proto has just posted his take on the entire comic book and you'll get to see some great examples of just how hilariously bad it truly is. I mean really, how can you go wrong with lines like this:

"WHO'S A MAN AND A HALF? I'M A MAN AND A HALF! BESERKER PACKIN' MAN AND A HALF!"

and

"YOU ARE HUGE! THAT MEANS YOU HAVE HUGE GUTS!"

Literary genius if you ask me.

In other news, for those of you who enjoyed our Star Wars Halloween game "Jek Porkins and Ponda Baba in: Haunted House Candy Hunt"... I'm working on a big new Halloween-themed game that will come out in late October. You heard it here on Destructoid first!

comic-adapatation-43393.phtmlI did this a few days ago actually... What's funny is I actually linked to Proto's All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder Longbox while making a joke that it took 10 years before Frank Miller came along and wrote an even worse comic storyline. :)

Haha yeah, I've been a longtime viewer of Destructoid, it be my favorite gaming news site. Met up with a bunch o' the Destructoid guys at Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica during the E3 convention this summer actually... good times, good times.
