Why I (also) love Destructoid.
Mirax | 10:12 AM on 08.25.2009 3 comments

Short and simple: I love Destructoid because the staff and the community are the best.

Destructoid is the only site where you can get Rev Rants, Memory Cards, Why X is Blatantly Better Than Y, Weekend Destructainment, Fanboy Friday, Art Attack, Indie Nation, and much more, including the awesome "This Week in the Community", which just shows how much the community is important to the website.

Point in case, "Why I love Destructoid".

Thank you all!

A (late) introduction.
Mirax | 11:18 AM on 01.26.2009 11 comments

Yeah, I know, another one. Sorry.

I've been here for some months now (since september, I think), but I never introduced myself, so here I go:

My name is Lucas, and I live in Brazil. I'm 16, and I've been gaming since I was 4. I was introduced to games when my friend bought a SNES, and I went to his house everyday to play Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger and, most important, A Link To The Past, which was the game that changed everything to me.

A year later (1997), I bought my first console, the Nintendo64. As the years passed, Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye, Pokémon Snap and other titles were part of my collection, but, as I said before, I was a big fan of AlttP, so you can guess which games I liked the most. Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask. To this day, OoT is still my favorite game of all time, to the point where I own the Collector Edition and Master Quest for the Gamecube.

Anyway, sometime after that, I moved to another city, and I was given a PS2 as a birthday present. This is where I changed from a person who liked games to a real gamer. Okami, God Of War, Shadow Of The Colossus, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and lots of other stuff, made me realize how much games were important to me. Then, I bought a Gamecube, and all the Zelda titles made me a happy nerd. Metroid Prime 1 & 2 were also games that I enjoyed (and still do), together with Crystal Chronicles and Meele.

I decided to play classics games that I missed too, so I not-emulated lots of classic Genesis, SNES, NES, Gameboy and Gameboy Advance games. Oh yeah, I owned a Gameboy Color too, the "special pikachu edition" or something, but I gave that to a friend as a present.

Regarding the current-gen consoles, I only own a Nintendo Wii, and i'm actually happy with it, although I do think that friend codes suck. I would really want to buy a 360 and a PS3, but I don't have the money, so for now, I can only play 360 games at my cousin's house. Great console.

Also, a list:
Top Five Games:
-Ocarina Of Time
-Shadow Of The Colossus
-Chrono Trigger
-Super Metroid
-Majora's Mask

Honorable mentions: Okami, A Link To The Past.

Besides gaming, I'm a huge Doctor Who fan (see my avatar), I like some anime (mostly Cowboy Bebop and Gurren Lagann) and I'm into literature and art. I love classical music, and my favorite composer is Antonín Dvorák. Movies are another thing I like, and my top five movies are:
-The Godfather
-Monty Python and The Holy Grail
-Ran
-Spartacus
-El Cid.

Well, that's it, I guess! Sorry for the long text, I got carried away. And sorry for my bad english.

tl;dr: i like games, doctor who, music and movies. late introduction.
