I want to play GTA with everyone on PS3, why cant I?

I just read about GTA4 saturday fights on the C-blogs and while thats great I have a problem. I've happily been playing GTA4 single player with not a single problem or crash, but everytime I try multiplayer i just get disconnected from the game before im even in it. Does anyone else here experience the same problem? I'm pretty sure Wardrox has had the same issue. Any thoughts, Its a great game but I want to play multiplayer, part of me wishes I'd got the 360 version had my LIVE account not expired just recently.

Are you behind a router? If so, check online for ports that need to be forwarded (should just be the PSN ports) or put your PS3's IP (you may have to assign one statically) in the router's DMZ.

UPNP is supposed to take care of that kind of thing, but you're always better off setting it explicitly than hoping it gets it right on its own.

I play just fine... no idea why, but there are a good bit of people that got the PS3 version.

The game only crashed on me once and that's when it was switching from multi-player to single player mode. Anyway, did you try deleting the game data and booting it back up again?

2. Too all the people saying we got forums. Yes, we do, but you all know that nobody goes there.

Yep, same problem. Only way around it I have found it to join a mate and stay in the lobby, or host a game.

It could be as simple as checking your network settings on your PS3 and see if you have your NAT settings correct. Preferably you want them to be at NAT 2. Check those to see if that may be your hindrance for online play.
