About Me
Mid-twenties gamers with roots starting with SMB2. I am a software engineering major with only a year to go until completion. I hope to land a job with a gaming company as an associate producer or at least some sort of engineering/program design area of work. Hopefully 2-3 years of that stuff will get me far enough ahead that I can then set my plans of Studio creation into motion. The header at the top of my profile is simply the evolution of my "company" logo - Seventh Border, currently going through registration processes, extremely slowly. However I do have an official T-shirt, and a shitty slogan - harumph.

As for my technical prowess, as stated earlier Software Engineer with 2 games, and game-ish project in my portfolio:

o Wooden Crusaders - a sort of Warcraft turn based strategy game
o Super Stick Brothers - a simple Smash Brothers rip off using simple polygons as fighters (circle, triangle, square etc.)
o Arcade Front End - a UI/OS for selecting games for use in a MAME cabinet, will be up for distribution soon.

I am proficient or knowledgeable in the following programming languages:
o Java
o C/C++
o Python
o ABAP - bloody useless

I've also dabbled with some multimedia stuff such Adobe Photoshop and Premiere.

I only game on my 360, though I might look into PS3 soon for Blu-Ray mostly ;).

Here is the making of our game developed by Seventh Border Studios as a Software Engineering project. Weeks 1-4 are linked here to the GameTrailers video posts.

WEEK 1 - Boris Varbanov, the Technical Lead on the project, gives us a quick look at what's been done so far.

WEEK 2 - Meet Michael Tavares(Me) the Project Lead. We go over the main menus and some animations.

WEEK 3 - Ritvik Mudur, Audio Engineer on the project, gives us a quick look at how the game is starting to look & control, as well as a rundown of our power-ups sounds

WEEK 3 *Bloopers - Continuing with the tradition of the weekly game development updates, we bring you the bloopers reel from the Week 3 featurette.

A montage of Ritvik's saying hello, as well as bursts of laughter and a game demo gone awry. The LOLs just keep coming.

WEEK 4 - Our intern shows us the new features that have been added: Attacks, Health Bar and Lives. He also gives us a glimpse at how the control setup menu will work.

I really hope you enjoy these. Look for more weekly updates as we present our progress and the rest of the team.

@Reaprar
Even though that was honest, way to be unsupportive and rude to a fellow destructoid member.

It's actually fairly funny how you're making these video blogs for this... lackluster title.

dude it's been only a few weeks of development for a total of about 100h programming spread over 6 ppl. It's not gonna win any beauty contests but it still aims to be a fairly competent demonstration of our skills.

Also the videos serve as our communication to our correcting professor, that way we don't have to worry about sending him long winded emails
