I tried insisting that I didn’t need full backwards compatibility in a PS3 but you had to keep on pushing. Thanks to you I knew I’d never be able sleep well, knowing I didn’t have the best PS3 possible. Well all I’d like to say is thank you!!!! after a week and a half of scouring big box electronic stores, independent used game stores, ebay, and craiglist I finally found a 60GB PS3, in fact the guy lives in my neighbourhood who sold it to me and not only did I find one, I found it brand new/sealed box, with the upc code (so I can get those crappy free bluray movies), and it was cheaper than if I went and bought the 80GB PS3 in the stores. So as of this morning my console trifecta is complete, I now have the PSWii60. Now all I need is to go buy some HDMI cables and some playstation games, I think I’m going to pick up the God of War and maybe uncharted (although the guy said he could get me that for cheap so I might wait.
Dear CaffeinePowered, you have become my new best friend whether you like it or not. As soon as I get a game that has online multiplayer I insist you been involved in christening of my newest console addition.
The only console stuff I play online is Catan on the 360, at least until brawl comes out. I wont have a PS3 until FFXIII comes out, unless I can somehow fanagle my parents into getting a 60 or 20 gig off ebay.
Pain, Super Stardust HD and Everyday shooter are good on the network too. You did choose the smart path, I got a 60 as well and even though 80 has 75% BC, there are a lot of great games it doesnt support like MGS3
@caffeine: If you live in Toronto, I know a guy now, also a store near me has the 20GB for 350$. thank you agian. I am much more satisfied now, knowing i've got everything instead of a system missing functions others have. I'm shocked that you don't own one, I gathered from your insistance that you must own one. Well, we'll have to hook up on live then instead Pm me your gamertag.
Oh and thanks to everyone else for their suggestions on things to try out on the system. Except are you sure about Pain I didn't think it looked very good! i'm currently in a demo downloading frenzy, pretty much every exclusive game of the PS3 is being downloaded onto my system as I type.
If you wanted to know holyetheline my Tv is an LG 42inch, 1080p.
[in voice of Grail Knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade]: You have chosen...wisely.
I also have a 60 GB, and it’s totally the way to go. Everyday Shooter is awesome, even though I suck at it. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is one of the best exclusives available for the system, though Warhawk and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction are awesome as well.
By the way, whatever you do, DON’T OVERPAY FOR HDMI CABLES! On Amazon, you can get a six-foot cable for $5.09 (including shipping!) It’ll work just as well as the $100 Monster Cable junk you see at Best Buy.
If you got a good price, I can't fault your decision. I got the lowly 40GB because I own a grand total of 1 PS2 game. I had a roommate for 2 years with a huge PS2 library, so I never built my own. And now, even with upscaling, it hurts to look at PS2 game after you've played Uncharted.
hey thanks BrOnxbOmBr21, i was just about to go buy the playstation ones, i'm such an idiot i didn't realize you could use any hdmi cables. Unfortuantely with shipping and all (to Canada) those amazon cables cost around sixteen and delievry takes 5-10 days. i found a set at a local computer store for about $20 so i'm going to go there, because i'm too impatient to save 4$ on the cables.
Oh and Maxvest, i've heard the 20 and 60s do a better job of upscaling then the 40s and 80s. Also, i don't own a single PS1 or PS2 game, but there's alot of been wanting to try. I fact i'm gona start with the God of War series.

about me
Hi Everybody,
So my names Mike and I'm a very active gamer. I stay up to date on all the gaming news; I spend a good part of my day browsing forums/sites/and blogs. For the longest time I never, commented or blogged or anything, however I've found the Destructoid Community somewhere easy to be a part of.
As for myself I'm 23 years old and I live in Toronto, Ontario.
The Gaming Machines I own include an Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, Nintendo DS, and some classic systems.
One thing I really like doing with my posts and blog is providing Canadian gaming content. I find a lot of the sites cover US, UK and Japan, but no Canada, whether it is the gaming expos, companies, deals, prices, or just gamers.
Destructoid is an independently-run publication forged by our love of video games and the gaming community's need of accountable enthusiast press living the dream since March 16, 2006
I am happy for you.
You chose the smart path ;)

Also TF2 on PC.

60GB here too. Smart Path indeed.
I believe Bahamut has good PSN Store advice.
Also, If you get a Playstation Eye.
" Operation Creeature Feature " off PSN Store...
Is A+ Unique Puzzler!
Uncharted is a GREAT starter game!
&
Unreal Tournament 3 or Warhawk for FNF's!!!
I like that TV... Looks very nice.
I would get a 60 if I can find one for cheap. Otherwise I hope those new rumored SKUs are true because I don't want to end up with a gimped 40 gig.

Good fine, I'm in the 60gig club as well.

Now we needs cross platform interplay.
Nice! 60 is certainly the way to go.
