Well no one can ever say that boys and gals over at Bestbuy.ca Marketing division are subtle, due to their latest marketing ploy on their website in the wake of Toshiba pulling out their support of HD DVD.
One has to wonder if this really smart from a business stand point, I mean don’t they want to try and sell off their remaining HD DVDs to unsuspecting chumps. By telling everyone that the HD DVD is dead you might as well just throw those discs into the garbage because no-one’s going to buy them now. Although I gather what they are trying to do is encourage all those who have yet to jump into high definition to get off the fence and pick up a Blu-ray player and a bunch of 35 dollar movies that they already own. I myself took the plunge two weeks ago, and bought T2, among others; on Blu-ray (which I already owned on DVD) I just couldn’t resist Arnold’s oneliners and explosions in HD.

The statement is also displayed on the main page in a picture slide show, it should be the first slide.
I tried insisting that I didn’t need full backwards compatibility in a PS3 but you had to keep on pushing. Thanks to you I knew I’d never be able sleep well, knowing I didn’t have the best PS3 possible. Well all I’d like to say is thank you!!!! after a week and a half of scouring big box electronic stores, independent used game stores, ebay, and craiglist I finally found a 60GB PS3, in fact the guy lives in my neighbourhood who sold it to me and not only did I find one, I found it brand new/sealed box, with the upc code (so I can get those crappy free bluray movies), and it was cheaper than if I went and bought the 80GB PS3 in the stores. So as of this morning my console trifecta is complete, I now have the PSWii60. Now all I need is to go buy some HDMI cables and some playstation games, I think I’m going to pick up the God of War and maybe uncharted (although the guy said he could get me that for cheap so I might wait.
Dear CaffeinePowered, you have become my new best friend whether you like it or not. As soon as I get a game that has online multiplayer I insist you been involved in christening of my newest console addition.
So according to futureshop.ca, they have the Ghostbusters game as being avaliable on Oct 3, 2008. It the shows versions for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, Wii and DS (there is also a PC version but it is not shown on the site). However, retailers can often be wrong, but the must of gotten the october 3 date from somewhere. Most everywhere else just says October with no specific date or not at all. I'm suprised that its not getting a Oct 31st release but I welcome the early date, as I am eagerly awaiting it.
*NOTE*, it has been disclosed to me, that this game is actually going to arriving closer to December (bummer) and that there is no PC version, someone needs to tell IGN, Gametrailers, and Wikipedia that they made me look the fool.
I'm sure some of you out there have seen this since it was released over a year ago, but for any of you who haven't seen this yet, there you go!
The marriage of two of my favorite game franchises, Mario and GTA!!
*NOTE* - apparently i'm not just 1 year out of the loop but a full two, well that time spent fight terrorists in outer space was a just cause, and they didn't have comedy central up there just cspan!
Here’s the third trailer for GTA IV, but with a twist. It’s in the style of popup videos, where interesting facts run on the screen. I can’t say it’s the most entertaining thing I’ve seen all day, but for anyone starved for GTA IV info it’s a must!!!

Hi Everybody,
So my names Mike and I'm a very active gamer. I stay up to date on all the gaming news; I spend a good part of my day browsing forums/sites/and blogs. For the longest time I never, commented or blogged or anything, however I've found the Destructoid Community somewhere easy to be a part of.
As for myself I'm 23 years old and I live in Toronto, Ontario.
The Gaming Machines I own include an Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, Nintendo DS, and some classic systems.
One thing I really like doing with my posts and blog is providing Canadian gaming content. I find a lot of the sites cover US, UK and Japan, but no Canada, whether it is the gaming expos, companies, deals, prices, or just gamers.
Destructoid is an independently-run publication forged by our love of video games and the gaming community's need of accountable enthusiast press living the dream since March 16, 2006
