World of Warcraft has proven to be the most successful MMORPG since the dawn of man. Many other companies have tried to create their own MMORPG's that promise new features and are constantly compared to WoW and often promoted as being better but come launch, they crash and burn.
Okay, so now we have established that World of Warcraft is the best MMORPG, (with no facts at all - bear with me XD) it's now interesting to hear the controversy in the General Channel on Azeroth. A majority of the players seem to embrace the thought of a new expansion and lots of new gear and areas to explore, however quite a large number of people are saying that they will quit WoW when the expansion comes out.
Now coming from someone who has only ever played one character (Alonsus, Gabranth [70], NightElf Hunter) I can't appreciate how annoying it would be to raid your tits off in all of the hard dungeons only to have some level 71 nub laugh at how his greens pwn your epixx. While this is slightly unfair on those people who dedicated a lot of their time to getting the best armor available, WoW does need to progress and raising the level cap is vital for many players.
In my time playing I have realised that it's not about just getting to 70. You need to have a strong Guild full of reliable 70's if you want to even dream about raiding Karazhan and the other high level dungeons. This can often prove to be hard, there's no middle ground, it's either small nooby guilds with a few 70's or full time raiding guilds with 100 70's. If you don't fit into the hardcore raiding bracket then you are forced to make do with blues and the occasional epic from instances.
Wrath of the Lich King however provides all of the 70's who arent in a serious guild the opportunity to experience some of the instances that are too hard for them now. For example when the expansion comes out i will be focussing on getting to level 80 then doing the black temple with a few friends in my current guild. If it wasn't for the expansion things like this wouldn't be possible. As for the people who can nail the black temple at the moment....Be Excited! When the new dungeons are released you guys will be owning them and be the first to be wearing the new Tier armor and some of the select few to have actually seen the inside of the high level dungeons.
So! Don't quit, hang in there and keep playing, when the expansion is released, it won't be too long until you and your guildies are back on top.
Thanks for reading and apologies if it was boring :D (first post)

This happened when the first expansion came out. Huge argument on 'casual vs hardcore'
casuals screaming:
"BUT I ACTUALLY HAVE A LIFE AND I CANT SPEND MY WHOLE DAY PLAYING WOW YOU LOSER! I DESERVE TO GET PURPLZ TOO"
hardcores screaming:
"BUT WE R REPLACING PURPLZ WITH GREENS AND NUBS HAVE GOOD GEAR!"
get over it, because in a month or two, when you are raiding and getting your epics again, the casuals will be in their level 80 dungeon set.
I haven't played in a long time, but that's pretty much how it went down last time.
The way I see it: In Blizzard we Trust. Have they ever done us wrong before? Are they not the masters of highly polished, well-balanced, hugely successful games? Let them do their thing, and enjoy the new content.
WoW players will never be completely happy. They need something to bitch about to keep them going.
I couldn't agree more ^_^#
I don't care if i have to replace some of the armor i have at the moment, it just makes it more fun. Plus I only just got to 70 a week or so ago and sadly I got a job at the same time so I barely get chance to play.
Can't wait anyway! Roll on Expansion!!!!
XD
So the complainers are basically saying "I want everyone else to suffer because I subjected myself to WoW addiction in order to be more powerful than them." Sounds a little self-centered and petty. If you want to raid your ass off, thats your perogative, but don't expect everyone else to cater to it.
WoW is not that great. You pay $15 to do things you can do in ANY OTHER MMO that's free. All it is is LEVEL GRINDING and then more level grinding. I mean hounestly, if you wanna level grind, go play Runescape, go play FLYFF, go play Maple Story. They are ALL free and all have things WoW dosent even have.

thats how you can tell when the classes are balanced, by checking the forums. if -every- class is bitching about how underpowered there class has been seen the last nerf/ beginning of time, then they are balanced.
i dont know what people are freaking out so much about WotLK, TBC was announced something like 15 months before it was released, wasn't it? People have tons of time to get their raiding guilds strong enough to run Black Temple several times a week.... and never, ever get laid.
