For those that missed the download link here it is

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GWHUZMF6

The game's passwords are exactly like Mega man 4's EXACTLY.
Stage layouts not so much there are moments where you'll say THAT'S MEGA MAN

OK WHERE have we seen this before?

I died too many times trying to get the screen shot form the "Toad Man level" but you'll fight that snail thingy only slightly redone. The "Wily Castle" has an auto Scroll part where you fight a huge ass cross ala Mega Man 2.
Ok so the game isn't entirely Original but it's ok it it's a Doujin game. One of the better done ones I've played.

I gotta say this is one to check out once again

The Next Doujin Game I have nothing but good things to say about is Blood Over

It's a 3d game but PSX graphics (maybe slightly better) Probably the best way to explain it is Devil May cry on a 2d plane.

here's a screen shot, No download link yet, that'll wait until I review it

Actually here's Video of it

and here's Rosenkreuzstilette in action too

I have my reasons. But I'd like to become a research Psychologist. For one to disprove aspergers exists (or make it easier to diagnose so other fuck ups never happen again) But also these dumb video game violence studies being conducted by non gamers with an agenda.

Also I want to know once and for all why furries are so fucked up in the head.

Thoughts on

Rosenkreuzstilette

If Castlevania and Bomberman got together and fucked and then Mega Man and Mario 3 got together and fucked and then the offspring of both fucked this would be what that birthed.

Yes this game is the product of Baby fucking

The Mario and Bomberman references are just for one stage But Toss in Syd of Valis with Mega Man and Castlevania and you pretty much have the neo Dojin Classic Rosenkreuzstilette

EPIC that screen shot is. That stage pays homage to Mario and Metal Man's stage (with an EXACTLY replica of the start of that stage half way through. Other stages are just sorta there. You think the lasers in Quick Man's stage were brutal this one has a laser puzzle EVEN WORSE. I need the F'n Password yo.

Just Like Mega Man there's a prologue stage which is optional. and then you choose form 8 "Female mistresses" Yes all the enemies are girls and all are HAWT in that anime sorta way. Your main character plays JUST LIKE Mega Man and there's a code that lets you play as one of the Bosses who is more or less this game's Zero. Pretty sweet.

Music is great controls are decent I'm stuck on a keyboard for now but as far as keyboard control it's decent.

I tend to think of it as ANOTHER Mega Man Spin off set some time between ZX and Legends even though that's not the story at all (something about magic users) but the game's in Japanese make your own story up.

Download this bitch.

Remember how I said there's not penalty in Blazblue for dropping games? Apparently...it TELLS YOU AND POTENTIAL OPPONENTS HOW MANY GAMES YOU DROPPED.

Mark this day on your calenders.....I admit I fail.

I have also come to the conclusion that Bang is freaking awesome and I need to get awesome with him.

Anyways with Marvel VS Capcom 2 coming in a few weeks supporting custom soundtracks I went and cobbled together a Custom soundtrack pack for the game made up of remixes of classic Capcom tunes.

Enjoy

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H7I5WYGM

So what can we expect from MVC2 online? People who only spam the upper cut slashes of Hayato and Strider? Cable spam? Mega Man buster abuse? Tag in Tag out abuse?

Lord only knows, but I'll take any of you on.

Any who hope you enjoy my freebie peace offering MVC2 custom soundtrack. I might make more later on.

By the way did I mention I FAIL?

I hath taken fail and made it into an art form

If you look up fail in the dictionary there is a picture of me.

In fact... FAIL is Latin for my name.

That video has nothing to do with this blog at all.

I've been putting a ton of time into Blazblue lately and doing my best to get the online achievements. I'm level 21 now with a bit over 100 matches under my belt, most of them are spam fests with Jin. Akune and Noel users give me the most trouble and beating them to a pulp it quite satisfying while my best matches are against Rachel and Bang users. My Favorite match ever was this morning against a Bang user and for once I was Ragna not Jin and it was SO close and so intense it'd be one of those matches that gather crowds in an arcade.

See I don't think fighters should penalize us for dropping out of a game. If a match is so one sided you should have the right to leave and not be penalized. One sided matches aren't fun unless you're a super conpetivie asshole who spends half his life playing the game and the other half on Dustloop and Shoryuken.

Said assholes are all over games like Street FIghter IV and Blazblue. In Garou and KOF 98 UM I have only encountered a few of these move spamming jerks. And the thing about fighting me in any fighter is figuring out my pattern. I fight in patterns using the moves I know do the most damage or will keep distance between me an my opponent. These tactics are effective but when I finally find somebody that can counter me the fight usually gets onesided good example is when I use Jin in Blazblue or when everybody else uses Noel. One sided matches aren't fun. I get bored beating people with the same 4 moves fighting Arakune users however forced me to use Jin differently. Now it's gotten to where I can beat just about anyone with Jin and using him is nothing more than a reflex action.

Street Fighter IV has too many Sagat and Shoto spammers if they aren't using them they're either Abel, Zangeif or Honda changing up my game doesn't really help much. I mainly use cammy and there isn't much left with her I haven't tried against spammers unless I have an arcade stick. I don't like to use Ken or Ryu because they just make it too easy ya know?

This goes back more though CVS2 on XBOX and 3rd strike the skills between me and my opponents were so wide open that few matches online in either were fun. While Pros dismiss online I DO THINK these hypocrites are laughing at people on XBOX live.

The key is fun a good even match is required for an online fighter to be fun. I'm so sick of move spammers I'm sick of being a move spammer But as long as there are ranks and achievements...people will spam.

Obligatory Michael Jackson reference.

You know though, The genesis Moonwalker was a terrible game but the Arcade game was awesome.

But I'm not going to talk about Michael Jackson. The whole rest of the world is. In fact in the days following his "death" I was listening to Prince out of rebellion. Not that I dislike the zombie of pop...I just knew I'd hear Thriller or Billie Jean every 15 seconds and needed a dose of Pussy Control, Purple Rain and the amazing Emancipation album. Remember one thing we're going to have to put up with this shit all over again when Madonna bites it and since she's a gay Icon...it'll be even worse.

Moving on, I'm getting a laptop very very soon. like VERY soon. with in a few weeks. So I wanted to load it with Dojin Games.

Seems most Dojin games are either awesome shmups or fighters, or shitty shumps and fighters. Glove on Fight looked pretty awesome. There's that Azumanga fighter. Shootthecore had a ton of great links. Then there's ABA games. If you haven't checked them out YOU MUST, Torus trooper is amazing and should be an XBLA game or maybe wiiware I'm not sure.

Anywho I don't have a ton to say about Dojin games since I don't know much about them. Isn't there a new all girl one from an Ex capcom employee?

Then there's mugen. OH DEAR GOD I hate the mugen community. Makes Chornos and his spam look like regular chit chat.

Eh I'm raking my brian here trying to write something. I'll leave this as is. So what've we got for Dojin Games?
Bearing in mind none of you know just how much I've downloaded by now (big bang beat IS one of them)

Hows about Garou and KOF 98 on XBLA?

The First of SNK's XBLA Double Whammy. Garou is every bit as great as it was in arcades It's better than the flawed Dreamcast port and the XBLA version is in fact a port of the PS2 version, which in it self was great. That said It is missing a few bells and whistles the Gallery Mode is gone and the arrange soundtrack while not radically better than the Original is also gone.

There is a neat extra which actally works for All SNK games on XBLA if you set your system language to Japanese, the Game will be in Japanese and any achivements you get while said game is in Japanese will be displayed in Japanese. Neat plus Kushnood Butt can get his proper name and be Marco Rodriguez again.

This is every bit the Garou I remember and the great thing about Garou is just how great the last is. Even the annoying little shit Hokotomaru is fun to use (AND A BASTARD I HATE NARUTO JR) It's a great cast and all are well animated for a 10 year old game (yeah can you believe it this game is a decade old) it's aged well and is as fresh now as it was then. The Achivements aren't too bad some are a bit tricky like:

Invincible Wolf (20)

Clear STORY MODE, don't lose any round, any continue, don't encount KAIN *In default BATTLE SETTING

I didn't know that was even possible.....

and

Impregnable Defense (20) Take "Just Defense" more than 10 times in one match. *STORY MODE only

Is that just defend 10 times in a match or make the dumb AI Just defend 10 times.... the engrish tells me nothing

The game is not without it's flaws, Controls aren't nearly as tight as they could be though I had trouble getting supers off the rest came out ok but something was off, this is the case with other SNK titles on XBLA due to the controller motions it's a little easier to pull things off. But I really can't say controls are tight here.

Alot of people are complaining about the online I personally have not had a laggy match the same is the case with KOF 98 UM. But online has been decent for me. I don't like how it's set up it's the most basic of basic online and nowhere near as great the wonderful HD Remix's lobbies and quarter matches.

But looking past these it's SNK's Masterpiece for $10 and it's well worth it if you haven't played before or want to face other humans in it. As this is SNK's only real tourney worthy fighter.

As if Garou wasn't enough SNK saw fit to tide those waiting for their preordered Amazon copies of Blazblue to arrive with King of Fighters 98 Ultimate match. While still a great update to what many consider the best KOF it was in fact an incredibly half assed port. Yes is has Mai x2 and that's all well and good BUT... well I'll list the problems

-The game WAS NOT EVEN TRANSLATED Victory quotes and the menu that shows up when you choose ultimate is in Japanese. There's no excuse for this Siloconera explained it Still NO EXCUSE

- As that stated this is a port of the Type X arcade game and NOT the far superior PS2 version so this means the gorgeous background int he PS2 version aren't there a shame as the 3d backgrounds in the ps2 version were a huge step up from the Dreamcast's 98 port.

-No arrange soundtrack. KOF music is some of the best in all of fighting gamedom. Now this is a port of the arcade version I understand but why a game running on something like type X didn't get the arrange to begin witch baffles me they could have fixed it here.

I don't think size is an issue as the game only clocks in at 124mb, it would not have been much more to add the 3d backgrounds and arrange soundtrack I don't think and it still would have clocked in under the XBLA limit.

What SNK DID bother to keep is neo-geo mode. You can play KOF 98 as it was on the AES so you get 2 games for one, however regular 98 does not get it's own set of achivements.

If you haven't picked up the superior PS2 version yet here's what Ultimate match adds to the table. Eiji, Kasumi, Geese, Krauser, Mr big, Orochi, Goenitz, Riot blood Leona and Riot blood Iori. Also if you don't want to fight Rugal you don't have to getting a certian number of DM finishes nets you a battle with either Goenitz or Orochi while both are hard battles it's not nearly as bad as if you have to face Rugal. Beating these bosses unlocks them.

Online is exactly the same as Garou and unlike Garou I have had one weird laggy match This is a problem for achivement whores if the game is laggy online as half the achivements are online based.

If you want KOF 98 on line here it is. If you want the best most complete version of KOF 98 get it on PS2.
