Vista's System restore is the WORK OF SATAN
michiyoyoshiku | 10:53 PM on 08.22.2009 13 comments

one thing before I begin my rant.. THE CHECK CLEARED!

So moving on.

I got my new Laptop Tuesday night, after some hassles. Which are now cleared up.

Anywho after hearing how shitty vista is I was surprised at how well it ran. Some minor annoyances, the Recycle bin vanished then the annoyance of Account protection GOD THAT WAS ANNOYING, I had some wifi issues but I think that was my fault. Also everything went alittle haywire when I left the system in hibernate
not a big deal though.

BUT the worst of all.........SYSTEM RESTORE.......Vista system restore eats hard drive space like Pac Man on a white dot binge......Or Majin Buu during one of his tantrums. Literally everytime I did something 2 gigs of hard drive space would just VANISH! So I had to turn that off.

Still......I don't hate Vista.....YET

I just have to hold out 2 months for Windows 7

as far as running games.... Daytona has never looked better.

It's a very competent gaming machine at least.

BUT I CURSE THE FAMILY OF WHO EVER MADE THE GUTTONOUS SYSTEM RESTORE......MAY EVERY 360 THEY EVER GET COMPED WITH RED RING ON FIRST BOOT

FOREVER!!!!!!!!

Speaking of 360s.... my 3rd one is on the way. Wonder how long this one will last....

So I was thinking, the NES and 360 have something in common...
michiyoyoshiku | 4:32 PM on 08.20.2009 15 comments

THE RROD is still a huge problem. Apparently the 360 Failure rate is around 53% now. My 360 just died a week ago even and Microsoft is spending a fortune fixing these things. Plus we have to send these things to Texas for repair and while in the minority there are issues people have had with the repair center, Dirty Consoles, Autographed consoles being cleaned, the thing being sent back still broken.rare but not so hot.

But I got to thinking... The NES I think any child of the 80s remembers the widespread blinking screen problem.
What did Nintendo do? They created "Nintendo Authorized Repair centers" So I was wondering if Microsoft could do the same, It would save them on shipping costs if anything and players would have a shorter turn around time.
The RROD is as big a problem as the NES blinking Screen it seems logical and even pratical to create authorized repair centers Plenty of Computer repair places could do do 360 repair on the side.

Seems like a good idea at least...

My new fingerprint magnet err Laptop
michiyoyoshiku | 11:02 PM on 08.18.2009 28 comments

...I am not literally going to light a match and burn my bank down. But here's what happend.

USUALLY I buy things like this I pay through my dad then pay him back. BUT due to Dental Bills his Credit Card is maxed out or VERY CLOSE to it.

To avoid him having to do this again, I was going to buy my Laptop by check.

Guess what happens?

CHECK DECLINED. My guess is my ID isn't tied to my Bank Account OR the Check Number had been torn off. Either way........I AM GOING TO KILL SOMEBODY AT MY BANK. It's not an issue of not having the funds, I have over $1250 in checking and savings.

So My dad......had to use his credit card....I promptly gave him the $853 check so he can pay the Credit Card company right away and not max his card out.

But I feel horrible about it. I wanted to avoid this whole thing to begin with by paying by check but my bank hates me and only wants my money.

As to why my dad was with me, we went out for dinner for my birthday then went to best buy for my Birthday present (Simpsons Season 12 and so I could get my Lappy)

I'm switching Banks ASAP needless to say

Anyway here's the Laptop.

I CAN PLAY CRYSIS ON THIS FUCKER!

360 commits suicide after owner tells cousin he has a man crush on Zac Effron
michiyoyoshiku | 11:53 PM on 08.12.2009 18 comments

True Story

About an hour ago I was talking to my cousin. and fubbing around on XBOX live, I see 17 again is up on Live cool so I watch it. My cousin asks me what I was watching I said the 17 again trailer. He told me it's pretty good cool so I told him in a very muttled voice I have a man crush on Zac Effron. thing ends we're talking a bit more we go through our arcade games for some co-op then the screen goes bluish yep graphics chip died not 5 minutes after.

My Conclusion?

My being gay for Zac Effron killed my 360

Mentioning this however

May have saved my 360

It was a matter of time really a month ago I got an E47 and 2 rings. Fallout 3 behaved weird and there was a lot of freezing I though was attributed to live not the system.

Still...

Being gay for Zac Effron IS a reason for a 360 to kill it self right? Hell my friend Candis even said

Michiyo Yoshiku: I'm ruling my 360's death Suicide
X why
Michiyo Yoshiku: right before it died I confessed to my cousin I had a mancrush on Zac Effron
Michiyo Yoshiku: while watching the trailer for 17 again
x: oh good lord
Michiyo Yoshiku: you'd have done the same?
Michiyo Yoshiku: LOL
x: i'd have committed suicide too
Michiyo Yoshiku: LOL
Michiyo Yoshiku: So you don't fall for the hotness of the Effron
x: ...
Michiyo Yoshiku: I should've told my cousin I also think Vanessa Hudgens is hot
x: ...
Michiyo Yoshiku: could've spared my 360's life
Michiyo Yoshiku: or
Michiyo Yoshiku: would that just make your suicide more grusome?
x: More grusome
x gruesome, actually

Game suggestion time- 3 Batman games, a Doujin game and the Best N64 Game EVER!
michiyoyoshiku | 9:23 PM on 08.09.2009 6 comments

In relation to my last post I got a good Pad config down-

A = Cross
B = Square
C up = Triangle
C down = circile
C left = L1
C right = R1

R = R2
Z = L2
L = Select or L3
Start = Start
Dpad = Dpad
Stick = Stick

Anyways here are a few games I discovered that are well worth your time.

In about 3 weeks Batman Arkham Asylum hits PS3 and XBOX360 I want to say it'll be the first good Batman game but there are 3 phenomenal Batman games that are well worth your time.

Batman- PC Engine

Couldn't find any pics but I found this video. It's Bomberman with Batman. I have every hucard there is and this is one I'll keep coming back to.

Batman Returns- SNES

As a rule movie tie in games of the 8 and 16 bit era fellatied the penis of Equus africanus asinus.
But this one is different. here's why

1. It's a Beat em' up

2. it's a good beat em; up

3. It's a KONAMI BEAT EM UP!

And for that it's worth a look. I wish somebody would make a gritty downloadable game based on Batman Year one, that'd be pretty bad ass. But the first 2 Batman Movies Batman is as close to the Frank Miller Batman as we'll get so it's a fair trade off. Thankfully the great animated Series also got a great game.

The Adventures of Batman and Robin- SNES

Part Prince of Persia part brawler. With AMAZING animation for it's time all it was missing was the voice actors. (I don't know if you remember this but Nintendo Power made the claim that the SNES could do full digitized speech ( this was true as Clay fighter has a full vocal theme song the only AMAZING thing about that shitastic series) Konami did the animated series proud and while the gameplay it self is clever and fantastic the animation is the star of the show here and a game well with your time. It just needs more Mark Hammel. Everything needs more Mark Hammel.

And if you need a reason to pick up Arkham Asylum.......

The Joker one shot was the only other time Harley was fap worthy. Check out the Arkham Asylum Demo I wanted to be disapointed but played that damned demo for hours and changed my amazon shipping on the game to release day delivery.

Cloudphobia- PC Doujin game

7 years in the making and Cloudphobia is one of the best. 1 man does what all of Treasure and Natsume do best a fast paced gorgeous Doujin Shmup Best of all...it's free.

Sin and Punishment- N64/Virtual Console

Everything I heard about this game is true. I'm a fan of Treasure and I don't think it's possible they can make a bad game. This may not be just the best N64 game but it could be the best Rail Shooter ever. The Graphics haven't aged well however, and the story is kind of stupid (it's in English oddly enough) But it's got a clever control Scheme (for the time anyway) and even more Clever 2 player system. The Music is great as well as you'd expect from Treasure. So if you haven't tried it yet check it out.

Also while on the subject of the N64

F Zero X > F ZERO GX

anybody have any N64 suggestions for meh?

The first of 5 Remixed Sega CD Games-Fatal Fury Special
michiyoyoshiku | 2:24 PM on 08.08.2009 0 comments

The Genesis and NEO GEO are cousins, Both use the rather common Motorola 68000 Processor. Genesis ports of Neo Geo Games usually somehow were alittle closer to the Neo Geo Versions than the SNES ports because of this. Still there were snags. Dropped animation was a big one. muted colors as well. While the SNES Versions had more colors and usually had what the Genesis was missing. Some purists felt the Genesis was closer to the Neo Geo. But again there were problems take for example Samurai Shodown, Dolby sound on the SNES with Earthquake still on the roster or everything zoomed in with no Ref, scaled back music and NO EARTHQUAKE.

Though the Genesis was closer to the NEO GEO than the SNES gamers for the most part stuck with the SNES ports. Very few Neo Geo Ports on the SNES were spot on While World Heroes 2 was a standout Neo Port, the Graphics while Colorful in other SNES neo ports were quite aways off from the Neo Geo, Samurai Shodown again being the prime example.

Fatal fury Special, where we are now, Personally I think the SNES port is the best port and I would even play it over the Neo Geo Version. The Sega CD version however...could've been a contender with some TLC.

A CD version of a Neo Geo game SHOULD BE spot on maybe with loadtimes up the wazoo but none the less. In Screen shots Fatal Fury Special for the Sega CD looked like the next best thing to having a Neo Geo. However alot of frames were dropped and the game plays at a slower pace than the SNES and Neo Geo cousins. Ryo was added as a playable character from the Get go where a very complicated code was needed for the SNES. and Neo Geo.

This alone could atone for the scaled back pace of the game but now, you need something more, Fatal Fury Special is a farily common game now reissued on many platforms JVC who did the port could have ripped the arrange Albums from SNK and used that as the redbook audio. However they opted to use the Neo Geo Soundtrack.

Back in the mid 90s maybe this was fine but for us emulating now? What reason do we have to play a subpar port?

WELL now we do. I took the Sega CD Version of Fatal Fury Special and replaced ALL music tracks with new arrange music direct from SNK remix Albums. 3 Stages get all new Music. Duck King is a surprise, Kim gets his Real Bout 2 theme and Krauser swaps out Mozart with Vivaldi.

The result is what I feel is the game THAT SHOULD have been released for the SEGA CD. It may be late but here it is.........the remastered Sega CD Version of Fatal Fury Special.

Head to that link give that MOFO a download load it in whatever you use to play Sega CD games and let me know what you think did a new soundtrack make this decent port awesome or does it not make up enough for the game play changes?
