That wonderful blue thing has changed my life NO MORE NO MORE do I have to play classics on a keyboard. BUT THINGS HAPPEN...
The conveter is awesome but it's also as they say ASS BACKWORDS
the left port......is actually player 2 and most emulators see it as port 2 some don't care. While Magic Engine and Project 64 won't let me map unless it's in a certian port. Dojin games also see it this way that port 1 is port 2 and port 2 is port 1 Big Bang Beat for one.
Perhaps it was intended to be used with the conveter facing out. but if that's the case why is the USB cord so long?
Next up
How do you map THIS:
To THIS
while still making no Mercy and MK Trilogy and 4 playable? HOW I SAY HOW?
It's like playing Naked twister without it turning into an orgy in the first 5 seconds, or untangling 60 cords in under an hour.
HOW IS THIS DONE MAN HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW?
in 6 Days I enter year 28 of this mortal coil. and I've used a lot of converters man. The old Radio shack with the B&W monitor we used an atari converter. Dreamcast? I never used that frisbie they tried to pass off as a controller nope PS2 and Saturn pads yo.
I was using PS2 pads on my dreamcast LONG before I even had a PS2. Now get this ONE supports a 6button arcade stick layout.....the other DOES NOT. and these 2 conveters WERE MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY
XBOX? again PS2 pads
Now the XBOX was a tricky one as my converters ONLY recognize my Mas Sticks and my dual shocks NOT my lovely SF Anniversary pads
So anyways
Tell me
HOW DO I MAP AN N64 PAD TO A DUAL SHOCK
TELL ME I NEED TO KNOW!!!
Analog stick -> Left analog
Start -> Start
D-Pad -> D-pad
B -> Square
A -> X
C buttons -> Triggers
L Trigger -> Triangle
R Trigger -> Circle
Z Button -> Press left analog
Assuming I understood that you wanted is to correspond N64 buttons to a Dualshock.
right analog is c buttons
and do whatever else feels right to you
Also, Google is pretty much a miracle tool. And I don't know if you're ESL, but a word of advice: please, please, PLEASE proofread and edit your posts BEFORE posting. Sometimes it seems like you have spasms every time you get on a keyboard.
Google, forums, review, and edit. Utilize these tools, and you'll be a great member of the Destructoid community! :D
A and B have to be [] and X of course, and run can be circle or triangle
for MK, its only 4 face buttons for attacks and a run and a block which are mapped to shoulders in PS MK games.
So, there you go.
And I do have one of those converters
We've all told him, but he won't think before he writes. I'd say he's a lost cause, but he has not cause, so really he's just lost.
D-pad= D-pad
Analog Stick= Left analog stick
C-buttons= Right analog stick
Z button= L1
Right shoulder button= R1
Left shoulder button= R2
A and B= whichever face buttons you choose
That would probably be the most comfortable setup. Or atleast I find it to be the most comfortable setup.
Know what I did when I got that same one? Fucking googled it, not wasted everyone's time whining about it. I mapped the N64 pad just fine, and I actually think Mario 64 plays BETTER with R2 mapped to duck/long jump.
I also love how this blog is another feeble attempt to go "HAY GUYS LOOK AT ME I FIGURED OUT EMULATOR DUR HUR".
