That I find out that Virtua Fighter 5 is indeed contested at the World Cyber games.
I was getting bored with Soul Calibur IV. See I'm far too good. I do get my ass kicked alot mostly cheap player who don't know how to play. But There are a good 60 something times where the other player really was better than me.
So I went to DOA 4. Counters seem to be the key to winning in DOA and I can't seem to get them down plus LAG DOES EFFECT MATCH RESULTS.
Virtua Fighter 5 has no online achivements. So there's really no point to it. BUT Virtua Fighter is technical. It's like chess and I think with a good stick the guide and the right teachers I could get good at Virtua fighter.
Playing through Quest mode only gives you a small idea of the depth of the game. The Majority of the AI Opponents are more moronic than the staunchest British Atheist. But as you rank up the opponents get harder forcing you to get better.
In 2d fighters getting your ass kicked doesn't exactly make you better. In 3d fighters it does make you better. you learn blocking and countering sometimes if you're playing with somebody friendly they'll show you a few new moves you never knew about before.
I learned alot the other night playing against a Seasoned VF player. Even against somebody of my skill level I learned.
That's really the mark of a good game when you keep learning and when the community is willing to help.
unlike the Asshole flooded FPSes.
But I hope I get good in Virtua Fighter. Like Good enough to go and Compete in Japan......and probably get my ass kicked
Oh yeah........Sarah's hot
Let's try to get a couple people together for a quarter match. I'll be online for a good part of the night, starting around 6pm EST. Any takers? GT: ShinigamiBV
GT: Tubatic
Then if only I had $50+ for the arcade stick. Grrrrr!
Ha. This is why video games will never be accepted as a mainstream sport. You never hear this with anyone who is good at any other "sport".
"I'd have totally won that billiards tournament but there was some cheap player who didn't know how to play that kicked my ass"
While I totally agree about gaming becoming a mainstream "sport" (It is NOT a sport), that particular flaw is more of a problem with SCIV than with gaming in general. You will rarely, if ever, see that happen on a game like VF5, or TF2.
Unfortunately, Soul Calibur rewards button mashing and doing the same two moves over and over again and punishes strategy or varied playstyles.
Also, WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!?!!!!!!!! 2-4 weeks of emptiness...
THINK OF THE SCIV PLAYERS MAN THINK OF THEM!!!!!!
