So a few months ago the people I share my computer with decide to lock me out of it and I pretty much had to break in using safemode deleting the password then booting up again.
That's blown over however with 5 people using 1 computer there's bound to be conflict over it and Thus I decided I better get my ass a lap top. Well now all that said I've been having some choice issues there are quite a few good ones. For one thing, on board graphics VS graphics card. Pack in software as well, I don't mind paying extra if I get Works with my lappy I have a Bag for a 15.6 laptop but it looks like it'll fit whatever I get reguardless even if it doesn't I'm only out $15 and I can use it to store an old console or something. It would be a plus if the Laptop could run Street Fighter IV granted YES I have it on 360 but being able to take it with me on vacations and such would be nice. But really I won't be doing any heavyduty gaming on it, Mostly just Emulation MSX, NES, SNES, N64, Mega Drive, Mega CD, PC Engine, Master system and Saturn. Shmups are mostly what i'll be playing so the lap top at least has to beable to run Shikigami no Shiro III and Söldner-X Battery life isn't super important but some of them are just insane 2 hours......doesn't cut it I have an older version of Works so I'm set but one that comes with Works is a plus. That said here are the nominees. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9370441&type=product&id=1218093004316 To me this is the most attractive, though it doesn't have the software package the others does it's alot less expensive and has an ATI Card. I'm a Fan of AMD and always wanted something that has an AMD Processor. Perfect size and the speed on the processor seems decent enough plus it has the HDMI out I need and 4 USB ports. We had a Gateway desktop that lasted at least 5 years before it died with minimal hardware issues. So this seems like a good choice. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9366562&type=product&id=1218092151327 A bit more expensive but it has good battery life. However there's a model Best Buy no longer has that is even better. I've heard good things about ASUS so this is an option but not near the top of the list. I really don't know how good the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD is either... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9366544&type=product&id=1218092153204 A more expensive Asus with only 2 USB ports BUT it has a Gforce graphics card http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9415019&type=product&id=1218101172646 another less expnsive Gateway witha Good Graphics card Plus it includes works, Good amount of ram decent processor The bare minimum of USB Ports... sounds like a winner http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9371556&type=product&id=1218093379440 Toshiba Laptops are probably what most of the Doujin Games I've been playing on It's a good package plus it comes with works a HUGE ass hard drive ontop of the 700 gig external I have. Awesome graphics card, 3 usb ports. Only issue is battery life, but it seems like the front runner. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9371547&type=product&id=1218093383198 AND the runner up EVERYTHING about this one is perfect BUT.... it has the on board Intel graphics chip and I'm leery of it. SO...if you were me what would you go with? the Gateway and the Toshibas seem to be the way to go. My first choice is hard to get now but this was what I was GOING to get http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9172851&type=product&id=1218044029604 Perfect save for the battery Life and lack of software that comes with it.

I'm kinda half-heartedly looking for a laptop as well, so I'd like to see what my fellow Dtoiders suggest here. I'm not too savvy with the hardware, though, so some of this is a bit overwhelming.
Been awhile since I've done much comparison with hardware, but I'd imagine it's still the case that a serious gaming laptop will cost a LOT of money. As in, you could get a good gaming desktop and a nice compact laptop that'll handle older/lower requirement games for the same cost.
Well like I said mostly it's for Doujin Games and Emulation but there are some PC based Shmups I want and it would be nice to play Street Fighter IV like...in the middle of the forest.
