Egads today I went to put a check in my account and I was shocked to see my previously balance was......
nothing......
If you ever needed proof that dental needs to be included in health care systems.....well my vanishing checking account is it. So, I'm temporarily poor. What's a gamer to do!?!
EMULATE FOOL!
First off you need some emulators I'm only going to focus on arcade today
Final Burn- for all your Capcom needs it's also really the only way to play CPS3 games as MAME has trouble loading them. It supports other hardware as well.if MAME can't run it chances are Final Burn Alpha will.
MAME 32- For everything else get MAME
So lets get to it now that you have the Emulations you need the roms. Now I can't tell you where to get them I'll just tell you what to get.
Shoot out is a very difficult old school Data East game the video pretty much sums up how well I do when I play and I've been playing it on and off since I was a kid. I wouldn't pay to own it but as a freebie it's worth the challenge.
Jailbreak is an obscure Konami game that's a pre cursor to Narc.
Daraku Tenshi The Fallen Angel made by......Psikyo? Yeah it's an interesting game it's obviously unfinished
it was rushed out to arcades and fell into obscurity only now to be discovered as a MAME Rom. It's a notable game becuase alot of the character designs would be recycled for KOF's Nests saga. For good reason too...the staff that made this game left Psikyo during development and jumped to SNK.
Dragoon Might is Konami's answer to Samurai Shodown Konami isn't known for good 2d Fighters and this is the closest Konami has ever gotten to actually making a decent fighter.
CAVE FTW ESP RA De is one of my favorites and probably one of the best known games on my list.
Guwange was a Japan only shmup by Cave (most of their games were) but it's phenominal it's a sin it was never ported to any system this game is FUCKED not even in a humorous way either it's just Fucked up. One of the bosses is a Cat Spider (thankfully it's more cat than Spider) If I recall the final boss was a weird demon baby that was like the size of the screen.
Back in the day wide screen was achieved by putting 2 or 3 small monitors together. Enter Taito's Famous Ninja Warriors. the precursor to HD games as we know them now and a damn fine game in it's own right. A Superior and maybe even more fun sequel is the on the SNES.
I could keep going but these games should keep you busy for a while NONE of this will be found on a console (besides nurfed versions of Ninja Warriors) they're all worth a look
i love being a pirate. i found a steven seagal beta game that was never released on the snes, its horrible but captures the taliban trainers essence in full.
I remember watching a youtube vid on a guy playing it. Mannnn was it awful but hilarious.
on the other hand, I met a lot of good friends/online friends through emulators. Plus I caught up on a log of SNK games thanks to emulators. I probably wouldn't idolize the collection ot MVS carts Hito has in his house if it wsan't for emus. (ok so I still would. but now knowing how much those things were back in the day...)
Hmm, I need to re-download Final Burn again. Might have to pick up a 360/PC controller since Vista x64 is a bitch when it comes to game controllers/drivers.

I'll suggest more when I can.
