Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
yeah, I'm always like "chad, why did you say that?" then I start crying :(
Instead, they give some minor errors made on the podcast. Oh no! They made a mistake about some Dreamcast game and thought a version came out on the PS2! Horrors!
I mean, seriously? It's a few people getting together to discuss games. There will be mistakes.
And the f-bomb will never cease to amuse me. "Fuck" is such a great word and has so many different uses. Fuck those fucking fuck-tards for thinking they were fucking intelligent for pointing out fucking errors in a fucking podcast. See? Awesome.
So, I give them a great big FAIL. But not you, michiyoyoshiku...yet...
The article fails to even "pwn" these particular episodes of Retroforce, let alone the entirety of Dtoid.
Anyway, yeah the writer clearly doesn't appreciate ANYONE getting ANYTHING wrong in conversation EVER. Hahaha how uncredibly boring would it be to listen to podcasts just for errors?!
I mean if Retroforce Go was saying that Sonic debuted on the Game Boy before jumping ship to the arcades exclusively I would understand, but nit-picking the timeline of when the "Sega does what Nintendon't" ads came out is just moronic.
The point the site makes about doing a little research on the show's particular topic is well-taken, but the rest tends to make a mountain out of a molehill to me.
*The World Subsequently Ends with a cataclysmic POP!*
I hope Cyril here makes sure to tell the ladies that this is how he spends his time, scrutinizing people's conversations about videogames and then writing a "shocking expose" of his findings on the internet. Chicks dig that sort of thing.
I actually linked before I had the chance to actually read it. I did read it and they did seem nitpicky. Still.
Cyril: Wow Amanda, you look so very exponential tonight. I feel like we're a match.com made in heaven! Er, I mean we're an http://www.match.com made in heaven! That's better.
Amanda: Oh, thanks, um so what's your name?
Cyril: My name? I am Cyril at your service milady.
::bows::
Wait.
I am Cyril, milady, and I am at your service. Yes that's more like it.
Amanda: You just gave me aids.
Cyril: Mission accomplished!
Cyril hops onto his unicycle and pedals away.

LMAO.
To the author: I want you to read that statement again, and tell me precisely how much of a douche you come off as. Read carefully, I'll wait. Now give me a number rating for your douchebaggery. I bet it's pretty large.
So why do they bitch? If they are going to isten to it again anyway?
They come, visit DTOID, listen to the podcast and then find mistakes.
Webpage cpunt goes 1 for DTOID, it´s not like we are visiting again their webpage. But they will continue to hear the podcast.
DTOID: 1 (every week) They: 1 (only this week)
... right...
I think it's safe to say that the writers are pedants, which in the asshole scale of 0 to Thompson ranks about a Jaffe.
I never played Kind of Fighters '94, was it like King of Fighters '94?
Also, for someone who feels they have the right to criticize others, not allowing comments on his articles is oh so convenient for him isn't it?
Either way...RetroforceGo participants don't claim to be authorities on retro gaming, they just casually chat about it.
rofl ^_^
that was a boring bit of writing. if this guy has time to scrutinize hour+ long podcasts for minor errors that no one could really care about then he's got to much time on his hands.
and yeah, he probably has his head so far up his elitist that he failed to realize that people listen to RFGO more for cultural enjoyment then obscure facts.
Join us next week, when we take HardOCP to task for mixing up the SAPPHIRE 100225TXSR Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 card, and the SAPPHIRE 100226L Radeon HD 3850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 card. If you don't know the difference, FUCK YOU
Maybe we'll just have an entire episode where we do nothing but state facts for an hour and a half. If he wants to fact-check, he can fucking work for it. Either way, it's easy to sound like the smart guy when you've got Google open in one tab and Wikipedia in another, 9 months later.
Let him try recording a candid podcast and see if he can remember the entire 30+ year history of gaming on the spot, without ever forgetting the name of something or what games where on what system and when.
Given the amount of stuff we've covered on our show, I think we do a pretty good job of keeping our shit straight for four friends recording what is, essentially, a live podcast.
We're 4 real gamers, talking about what we love. You want stiff, scripted talk? You want someone to regurgitate what Wikipedia says? Go somewhere else.
their website looks like shit. honestly, let's talk about how they used a serif font for a long article so your eyes get tired reading it.
let's talk about no spacing around the pictures, pictures flying in from both sides with no grid followed. let's talk about 20 different colors for text and no indenting.
so destructoid screwed up a very small fact that they pulled off the top of their heads... at least they know a little something about design 101.
