Took him down. Chun Li goes higher in the air than him, which can counter his insane air priority. It did take me an hour, but I got him.
Try it with Blanka, according to my 14 year old self he was the best.
I got him with Guile. I tried about 20 times though. If you do the roundhouse flash kick he just stands there for a second, good opening.
It took me about 8 or so tries. The difficulty for hidden bosses is these games don't get dumbed down for easier difficulty levels. It can be tough. But once you've gone through Ultimate Rugal and Shin Akuma in Capcom vs. SNK 2 enough times, you start to get used it.
I'm not sure who is more Brutal, Super Turbo Akuma, God Rugal, Or Shin Akuma/Gouki
This son of a fat mongrel slut took me more than nearly two hours straight, on fucking THANKSGIVING.
Dan Martigan is right about the Guile roundhouse flashkick tho, if you do it and land directly infront of Akuma he usually just stands there for a sec.
I beat him with E. Honda first mainly by cornering him and spammming the buttpound grab and the jumping butt slam.
Then later on I realized its WAY easier to beat him with Cammy. She has that spinning back fist with halfcircle-back punch and it goes right around fireballs. Just keep spamming that on him and keep your distance. Once you do it, jump away and keep doing it. Don't try to use it against the airial fireballs, it doesn't work. And for gods sake, if you get an opening to use her Super, fucking GO for it.
Also, when you're gonna go and get to him, make SURE the game is set to timed ONE ROUND MATCHES on easy mode. It may take a couple trys to actually get to him, but keep at it, you'll be happy you don't have to beat him two times in a row.
Let us know once you finally smash that foo
One more thing (sorry for the triple post!)
Don't do what the guy in the video did and try to challenge Akumas priority. What I mean is when he's down, don't jump at him and try to use quick jabs while he's getting up. His Shoryuken will decimate you if you try. When he's on the ground just get away. Like I said, the Cammy thing.
It took me like 20 tries as well, but I beat him with Akuma. I was playing very defensively, waiting for him to make his move, and he kept jumping into the the backward strong kick thingy...roundhouse? I don't know. Whatever.
Shit was rough, though.
AKUMA FTW!
I got him with Ken. Just kept Strong Dragon Punching him. If I missed I came down and right as I hit the floor I did it again. It was the one move that was too fast for him.
Akuma (SFA2): "Fell how weak you truly are!"
Gotta love those typos.
Any reccomendations on substitutes or fixes for the crappy Xbox 360 d-pad?
Seltzermx, many people would recommend that you invest in a Hori arcade stick, or build one yourself if you have the skills. I just use the analog stick, though, and I've been doing pretty well.
@Char Aznable: I remember reading about it when it was first announced, but I was never actually much of an arcade gamer, as I had it on the SNES.
I saw there was a Limtied Green Controller for Europe but those things are going for like $80 on ebay.
Should I wait til SFIV comes out and maybe they'll have a US release with it?
Yeah, I played Street Fighter way more on the SNES, so I don't mind the 360 button layout. Using an arcade stick would probably fuck me up more than the D-pad.
I think you have to import the Hori ones, but I haven't really looked into those too much. I've heard that http://www.play-asia.com/ is a good source.
There is also one from MadCatz here. I hope this helps.
